WWE NXT New Year's Evil 2024 is this Tuesday, and WWE has already announced six matches for this “special episode”:

  • Lyra Valkyria (c) vs. Blair Davenport for the NXT Women's Title
  • Dragon Lee (c) & Legado Del Fantasma vs. Drew Gulak, Charlie Dempsey, and Damon Kemp in a six-man tag team match
  • Oba Femi vs. Riley Osbourne in the NXT Breakout Tournament Finals
  • Roxanne Perez vs. Arianna Grace in a Street Fight

With that being said, the following will provide some foolproof match card predictions for what should be the biggest NXT event of the new year: WWE NXT New Year's Evil 2024.

Lyra Valkyria (c) vs. Blair Davenport [NXT Women's Championship]

Lyra Valkyria will defeat Blair Davenport to retain her NXT Women's Championship because Lyra is not losing her world title on a random weekly special episode of NXT after dethroning the almighty Becky Lynch. She will be losing that title on PPV. At first, Davenport seemed like an appropriate candidate to become the next NXT Women's Champion even during Becky's transitional title reign. However, Cora Jade threw that theory out the door with her epic return at NXT DeadLine, basically taking the spotlight away from Davenport and making it clear that she is coming after Valkryia for that title.

Prediction: Lyra Valkyria

Oba Femi vs. Riley Osbourne [NXT Breakout Tournament Finals]

Oba Femi will defeat Riley Osbourne to win the NXT Breakout Tournament Finals and earn an opportunity at the NXT World Title because he needs to assert his dominance as a powerhouse in NXT and Chase U has too much shenanigans going on for Osbourne to even focus on the world title.

Prediction: Oba Femi

Roxanne Perez vs. Arianna Grace [Street Fight]

Roxanne Perez will defeat Arianna Grace because she is a former NXT Women's Champion who needs to regain her credibility in the main event scene before getting called up to the main roster. In fact, her title reign was a fiasco, so she really needs to get that mojo back.

Prediction: Roxanne Perez

Dragon Lee & Legado Del Fantasma vs. Drew Gulak, Charlie Dempsey, & Damon Kemp [6-Man Tag]

Dragon Lee and Legado Del Fantasma will defeat Drew Gulak, Charlie Dempsey, and Damon Kemp because Dragon Lee needs to maintain his momentum as NXT North American Champion and Legado Del Fantasma needs to redeem themselves after being embarrassed by Santos Escobar.

Prediction: Dragon Lee & Legado Del Fantasma

Tiffany Stratton vs. Fallon Henley [Servant or Ranch Hand Match]

Tiffany Stratton will defeat Fallon Henley because she is a former NXT Women's Champ who needs to maintain her credibility in the main event scene before getting called up to the main roster. Having Fallon Henley as her servant should be an interesting layer added to Tiffany's character development.

Prediction: Tiffany Stratton

Ilja Dragunov (c) vs. Trick Williams [NXT Championship]

Ilja Dragunov will defeat Trick Williams to retain the NXT Championship because Ilja is not losing his world title on a random weekly special episode of NXT after dethroning the legendary Carmelo Hayes. He will be losing that title on PPV. Like Blair Davenport, Trick Williams earned this world title shot by becoming the Iron Survivor at NXT DeadLine. It seems that the crowd is hot on him beconming champion, especially after his failed 2-day reign with the North American Championship. However, he has a bigger storyline with Carmelo Hayes that will p[lay a major factor in this title match.

Hayes will likely betray his friend, costing him the biggest match of his career, whilst Dragunov continues his feud with Ridge Holland on the road to NXT Vengeance Day.

Prediction: Ilja Dragunov
