WWE Raw Day 1 Predictions: Seth Rollins Will BURY Drew McIntyre
By Mark Justice
WWE Raw is continuing its road to WWE Royal Rumble 2024, which is shaping up with some top candidates like CM Punk and Bayley being potential Rumble winners this year.
On this week’s episode of WWE Raw, four matches have been officially scheduled: Seth Rollins (c) vs. Drew McIntyre for the World Title, Rhea Ripley (c) vs. Ivy Nile for the Women's World Title, Tegan Nox & Natalya vs. Shayna Baszler & Zoey Stark to determine the next number one contender for the Tag Team Titles, and Becky Lynch vs. Nia Jax.
In other news regarding WWE Raw, CM Punk officially signed with Raw and planted some major seeds with Seth Rollins for the road to WrestleMania 40. Shinsuke Nakamura spit mist at Cody Rhodes again. R-Truth has been messing around with Judgment Day. Gunther retained the title against Miz in a Last Chance Match. Judgment Day retained the tag titles against Creed Bros in the main event of Raw two weeks ago. Elsewhere in the midcard, Bronson Reed finally defeated Ivar, but they are not done yet. KC^2 recently dethroned Chelsea Green and Piper Niven for the tag titles.
With that being said, the following will focus on the two announced matches and the idea of Damian Priest not betraying Finn Balor on the road to WWE Royal Rumble 2024.
Becky Lynch vs. Nia Jax [Grudge Match]
Becky Lynch will defeat Nia Jax because this feud will be used as a stepping stone for Lynch to get back in the world title picture on Raw. The only way Nia Jax wins this match is if this feud is extended to WrestleMania in a trilogy. The crux of this feud is to establish that Becky Lynch, not Nia Jax, was the primary reason for why The Man was born as a gimmick back in 2018, when Jax broke Becky's face. Henceforth, Becky is the rightful winner here for the babyface payoff.
Prediction: Becky Lynch
Tegan Nox & Natalya vs. Shayna Baszler & Zoey Stark [#1C Match]
Shayna Baszler and Zoey Stark will defeat Tegan Nox and Natalya because Nox and Natalya already failed in their opportunity for the tag titles so it's time give Baszler and Stark a chance. Their makeshift team is more peculiar than others because they both broke away from their original tag teams with Ronda Rousey and Trish Stratus respectively to prusue their singles careers. Yet, they nonsensically found themselves in a tag team together. Nonetheless, they will win here just to be fed to KC^2 in their first televised title defense.
Prediction: Shayna Baszler & Zoey Stark
Rhea Ripley (c) vs. Ivy Nile [World Title]
Rhea Ripley will defeat Ivy Nile to retain her world title because Ripley is not losing her title on a weekly episode of Raw. Her title reign has been way too dominant and prestigious for the title to not change hands on a PLE event instead. Also, Ivy Nile has not built up well enough as a credible challenger to be seen as a threat to Ripley's title reign. Henceforth, Ripley will retain here and move on to her next challenger at either the Royal Rumble or Elimination Chamber in her home country of Australia.
Prediction: Rhea Ripley
Seth Rollins (c) vs. Drew McIntyre [World Title]
Seth Rollins will defeat Drew McIntyre to retain his world title because Rollins is not losing his title on a weekly episode of Raw. His title reign has been way too storyline-driven and prestigious for the title to not change hands on a PLE event instead. Also, Rollins has already teased a future showdown with future Royal Rumble Winner, CM Punk, for the world title. It would be completely asinine to put the title on McIntyre after teasing that marquee matchup for the main event of WrestleMania Night 1, especially since Rollins has not accomplished his first WrestleMania Main Event in his career yet.
Prediction: Seth Rollins
