A tragic situation in professional wrestling occurred on Saturday, August 23. Raja Jackson, son of former UFC Champion Quinton “Rampage” Jackson appeared to attack a professional wrestler at Knokx Pro Wrestling, beating him unconscious and sending him to the hospital with serious injuries.
The video shows Jackson slides into the ring and attacks Syko Stu with a slam from a double-leg takedown before landing several unprotected blows to Stu’s head while he laid motionless on the ground. Several other wrestlers jump into the ring to pull Jackson off of Stu while he’s still on the ground. Several media outlets reported on the matter and its fallout.
“Based on what I’ve heard, the spot with Raja Jackson at Knokx Pro Wrestling was planned,” posted Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful. “However, Raja Jackson knocked the person out – ring name Syko Stu – and followed up with a lot of heavy punches to Syko Stu, which were not planned to do that kind of damage. Stu was rushed to the hospital with serious injuries. We are working to find out more and have Stu in our thoughts.”

“Rampage” Jackson also posted a statement about the matter involving his son.
“I want to clear up the misinformation about my son Raja,” Quinton Jackson posted. “I’ve confirmed that the wrestler (Stewart Smith aka Syko Stu) is awake and stable. Raja was unexpectedly hit in the side of the head by him moments before Smith’s match, Raja was told he could get his ‘payback’ in the ring. I thought it was a part of the show. It was bad judgement, a work that went wrong. Raja is a MMA fighter not a pro wrestler and had no business involved in an event like this. I don’t condone my son’s actions at all!”
