Roman Reigns is one of the most important performers on the WWE roster. It has been weeks since he’s been seen, and fans are getting antsy about his return. Looks like that is coming sooner rather than later, as reports are out that his comeback is already planned.

WrestleVotes took to Twitter on June 26 to set the stage for Reigns’ return.

“It seems that time of year again – Roman Reigns’ return is on the horizon,” the account tweeted. “Sources indicate that his name has popped up internally in recent weeks, typically signaling the wheels are in motion for a return heading into the biggest party of the summer.”

That summertime party is none other than SummerSlam. The first ever two-day edition of the event is set for Saturday and Sunday, August 2 and 3 from the MetLife Stadium in New Jersey. In the eyes of many, this is the second-biggest annual WWE PLE, just behind WrestleMania. It would make sense for Reigns to return heading into this show, giving fans another big name to drive attendance and viewership.

Roman Reigns’ last match was back at WrestleMania 41, where Seth Rollins defeated him and CM Punk in the main event of Night One. The last time he was seen on television, Punk and Reigns were laid out by Rollins’ newest group, featuring Paul Heyman, Bron Breakker, and the recently added Bronson Reed. It will be interesting to see where Reigns fits into the main event picture of WWE Monday Night Raw.

Roman Reigns will be the catalyst for Seth Rollins to cash in at SummerSlam

Roman Reigns always fits in the main event of any show, but it will be interesting to see his impact on SummerSlam. One rumor that has come up is that Reigns will take on Rollins in a singles match during the PLE. However, that will set the stage for Reigns to cash in on someone at the end of the show.

Perhaps the individual Rollins will sneak attack is none other than Cody Rhodes, who is the favorite to win the 2025 King of the Ring Tournament. Think about it, Rollins still has an important place in history for one of the top Money in the Bank cash-ins when he stepped up at WrestleMania 31 to cash in on Brock Lesnar and Roman Reigns. Just hours prior to that, Randy Orton defeated him.

With Rollins having a powerful new group at his beck and call, several interesting matches await Reigns. However, one has to wonder how long the OTC will remain in active duty to WWE. He’s spoken openly about winding down his career. Plus, he’s been tabbed to take part in some big movie projects, including playing the martial arts master Akuma in an upcoming live-action Street Fighter. Reigns will not be around for long, so enjoy him while you can.

The race to SummerSlam is in full swing. That means some top names can be expected to make a big return. None are bigger than Roman Reigns, and it looks like he will be back in the fold much sooner, rather than later.
