There’s a lot to talk about coming out of the 2025 WWE Royal Rumble. Whether it’s Jey Uso’s surprising win, or Alexa Bliss’s last-minute return, fans are looking forward to what WWE is planning next. There’s another point worth discussing as well. Roxanne Perez was the star of the women’s Royal Rumble and fans should be ready for her to take over the main roster.

Perez’s nickname of “The Prodigy” isn’t just a tag line. She’s one of the best young performers in wrestling today, regardless of promotion. When she signed with WWE in 2022, it was clear that she was closer to main roster-ready than any other young performer at the time, and she lived up to those expectations. She competed in her third rumble match, this time having a record-setting performance lasting more than any other woman in the history of the match. That shows the trust WWE is ready to place in Perez as a top performer.

After the rumble, Fightful Select reported that Perez was on the short list of NXT names slotted for a main roster call-up. Sean Ross Sapp was told to “expect a call-up for Perez sooner rather than later, with no specific date or time frame set.”

With two NXT Women’s Championship title reigns that combined for more than 385 days, Perez has done all she can do with that division. She led the brand wonderfully as the women’s division was given more space to develop every Tuesday. After dropping the title to Giulia, it was clear that the new generation was set to run the division. Rather than keeping Perez there any longer, moving her to the main roster now is the right move.

Whether it is Monday Night Raw or SmackDown, Perez fits in perfectly on either show. Not only can she play the classic underdog babyface, but she’s shown that she can turn it on as a heel as well. WWE can try something interesting with her and those ranges of characters. For any idea on how strongly Perez should be booked as a main roster talent, look no further than what WWE has done with Bron Breakker. He’s been brought up through the midcard at the right pace. It’s apparent that WWE has top title plans for him, but instead of rushing him into that position, he’s getting the right build and facing the best names along the way. The women’s division on either main roster show has the talent and depth to do the same with Perez.

Roxanne Perez will be a star on the WWE main roster. She’s been killing it since stepping into the company in 2022. After her third Royal Rumble appearance, she’s ready to show everyone that calling her “The Prodigy” is as close to a fact as a nickname can get.
