It's WrestleMania week and the rumors are already running wild. Speculation is growing that Mariah May is potentially done with AEW and could be heading to WWE.
Davle Metlzer and Bryan Alvarez discussed the situation during a recent episode of Wrestling Observer Radio.
"I know from people in WWE...they know she wants to go there," Meltzer said. "I don't know when her contract is up, everyone seems to think it's this Summer."
"I was given the impression it's a two-year deal that she signed originally, so you can do the math," Alvarez stated. "I have heard the same thing. At least in AEW, there's a belief she's heading to WWE."
Mariah May would be a massive addition to the WWE roster
It has been a little more than a month since May was last seen in AEW. She dropped the AEW Women's Championship to Toni Storm at AEW Revolution. It was one of the highest-praised matches in AEW, and potentially brought a close to their storied angle.
Mariah May versus Toni Storm was one of the best stories in wrestling. Since May's arrival in AEW, fans wanted to see her alongside Storm, but even then they exceeded all expectations. The angle had its ups and downs like an old-time soap opera, ending with an uber-violent match that should have been the first women's match to main event an AEW PPV.
May is ready for the main roster and would fit perfectly on either SmackDown or Monday Night Raw. There's a pleathora of talent for her to work with. May against the likes of Rhea Ripley, Bianca Belair, Tiffany Stratton, and Iyo Sky would all be interesting to see.
This rumor comes at a time in which WWE is also reportedly pursuing Jeff Cobb. New Japan Pro Wrestling announced Cobb's release, which furthered the rumor that he's heading to WWE. Fightful Select reported back in March that sources told them Cobb was listed on internal rosters at the time.
