WWE Money in the Bank winner Seth Rollins remains one of the main talking points coming out of a packed weekend of wrestling action. The former champion appeared injured during his match with LA Knight which brought the contest to an abrupt halt. In the hours and days that have followed, reports are growing that this is perhaps an intricate work that will lead to a potential surprise return. Here's the latest on Seth Rollins's and perhaps his injured knee.

LA Knight and Seth Rollins were locked in an engaging battle during WWE Saturday Night's Main Event. Rollins apparently landed oddly during the springboard senton to moonsault sequence, leading to the match to be paused, and rushed to the changed finish. Rollins was filmed being helped to the back, showing frustration visibly and audibly along the way.

The growing rumors around Rollins' injury were reported by several members of the wrestling media. John Pollock of POST Wrestling, Dave Meltzer, and Bryan Alvarez have eached talked about hearing information around Rollins' injury being turned into a storyline to potentially create a bigger surprise.

"The reason these stories are conflicting is because he's hurt," Alvarez said while speaking on The Wrestling Observer radio. "But what happend on Saturday was a storyline, meaning he is hurt, but he did not get hurt on that spot. That spot was a cover for an injury that he has, which he will have worked on. The idea that it was suggested was he will be out of action for a little while, but they're gonna say like, nine months, or whatever, but he will be back much sooner than that."

Tie that to what happened on the July 14 episode of Monday Night Raw and things could become clearer. Paul Heyman noted that Rollins has a full year to cash-in the MITB briefcase, meaning he will not reliquish it in any way. By the end of the night fans started to speculate that Rollins will return to cash-in on the winner of CM Punk versus GUNTHER for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship which was set by the end of the evening.

If Seth Rollins' injury is a "work" does that make WWE look bad?

As fans debate whether this situation is a work or not, there are some who question if this is an actual good idea as a storyline. The presented opinion is that this is a lazy way to build interest around the WWE main event, rather than tell intriguing stories with the performers on screen. Many are still praising AEW All In 2025 for the culmination of the storyline that brought "Hangman" Adam Page back to the AEW World Title, with some openly saying that WWE could not do the same.

WWE has several talented performers on the roster. Many of whom are capable and willing to play their roles in developing engrossing stories that lock viewers in week after week. However, WWE doesn't fully lean into that aspect of professional wrestling or sports entertainment, focusing more on celebrity engagement and other vanity metrics to drive business.

Seth Rollins is one of the most important performers on the WWE roster. If he is injured, his absence will be felt throughout the main event scene on WWE Raw. But if this is all a ruse to lead to something "bigger" it will create some interesting discourse about the outcome.
