Even though Goldberg was given an official sendoff from active competition, WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event did not end on a happy note. Multiple-time champion and current Money in the Bank briefcase holder, Seth Rollins, suffered an injury during his match with LA Knight. The match was sent to the finish, and Rollins was helped backstage, kicking off a storm of speculation. If his injury forces him out for a long time, WWE will have to make massive shifts to its main event scene.
According to multiple reports, the original plan was for Seth Rollins to defeat LA Knight. However, Rollins landed oddly during a springboard senton to moonsault sequence, forcing an immediate change of plans with Knight hitting the BFT to pick up the victory. Fans posted clips on social media showing Rollins being taken to the back by WWE staff.
The injury bug hit WWE just a few weeks ago, forcing Liv Morgan to the sidelines. Her shoulder injury caused multiple changes to WWE Evolution 2025. Expect the same with Rollins, as he was the featured performer on Monday Night Raw and is expected to pick up either of the main roster titles via the cash-in within a few months.
WWE will need to make a major change in its main event picture
If Seth Rollins is unable to compete for an extended amount of time, WWE will have to change course in its main event scene. The two performers who come to mind first are Bron Breakker and LA Knight.
The moment that Breakker was paired with Rollins, expectations started that the two would eventually face off, with some speculating that could happen as early as WrestleMania 42. WWE has seemingly gone all in on the former NXT Champion, which is a decision that anyone who watches the product would agree with. Breakker has all the makings of a future star who the company can build around for years to come.
While Bron Breakker taking the helm in the main event would be a logical decision, fans would be more excited if this moment were given to LA Knight. Knight remains popular with WWE fans, even though the company remains hesitant to strap the proverbial rocket to his back. If there was a way to use this moment to get the championship around his waist while Breakker and Bronson Reed remained his top foils, WWE should make that adjustment and get some much-needed goodwill going for the promotion.
Seth Rollins suffered an unfortunate injury. There’s no word on the severity of the injury or if he will need substantial time to recover. If WWE must make a pivot in its main event scene, LA Knight or Bron Breakker are the only choices to make.
