The El Grande Americanos Should Team Up Instead of Fight

The El Grande Americano angle is one that is drawing attention for more reasons than one.

Back in March, Chad Gable went on a journey after losing several matches to luchadors. He came back as a transformed man, someone that no one would’ve expected him to become. Donning his own mask, he became El Grande Americano. Coming to the ring with the exuberance and flair that many luchadors have, he transitioned perfectly into the gimmick. Things were going well until June, when a shoulder injury sidelined him. Rather than scrap the character, WWE decided to put another man under the mask.

Ludwig Kaiser became the next Americano, and his popularity exploded. Putting his own personal mannerisms into the character has paid off in a big way. Whenever he walks to the ring, the crowds love him. His bodyguards, Bravo and Rayo, have helped him gain key victories. But what will happen when Gable comes back from injury? The obvious answer would be to have them fight on who is the real El Grande Americano. But having them team up would guarantee that the character retains its popularity.

When Gable went away for shoulder surgery, unfortunately so did the Creed Brothers. They’ve been on Main Event wrestling, but haven’t had a televised match since July.Bravo and Rayo, aka Pete Dunne and Tyler Bate, have thrived under Kaiser’s leadership. It’s no secret the roles were supposed to go to Julius and Brutus. Teaming up would create a huge unstoppable faction. Two El Grandes with four henchmen would create more opportunities for the Creeds, just like how portraying Bravo and Rayo have done for New Catch Republic.

The eventual team-up of the El Grande Americanos

If things went south for Kaiser in the role, this conversation wouldn’t be happening. Unfortunately for Gable, the gimmick has exceedingly grown in popularity with Kaiser. If they fight, one man gets the short end of the stick. If Gable wins, Kaiser would be stripped of something that got him majorly over. Kaiser winning wouldn’t be fair for Gable, as he originated the character in the first place. Fighting over who is the best would be useless. The two teaming up ensures that they both get credit for this popular gimmick.

When Gable got injured, fans were divided on the gimmick. Some were arguing his portrayal was of poor taste, while others found it entertaining. But when Kaiser took over, his natural charisma and charm turned the character into something refreshing. Upgraded theme music made him into a stylish, athletic American luchador. Pairing Gable with him would make the fans happy, as one could work Raw and the other could work AAA. Having double the El Grande Americanos would bring joy to fans all over North America.

The predictable thing to do when Gable gets back is to pit him against Kaiser. Maybe a one on one match would be the call. A three on three battle could also happen. But pairing them together could be the most beneficial for all of them. Gable gets the renewed popularity of the character. The Creeds get back into the spotlight after months away. Kaiser doesn’t get to worry about losing what got him over. Bate and Dunne continue to help Kaiser get over. Instead of fighting, Gable and Kaiser should unite and make the El Grande Americano character bigger than it’s ever been.
