The October 27 edition of WWE Monday Night Raw closed out on a strong note. Lyra Valkyria and Bayley put up a valliant effort against WWE Women's Tag Team Champions, Charlotte Flair and Alexa Bliss. Their victory was short lived before Asuka and Kairi jumped them. But the final interaction added an interesting wrinkle to that story. This match and the fallout showed that the WWE women's division is truly thriving and collectively the most interesting aspect of the product.

The main event on Monday was a major showcase for women's wrestling. Flair and Bliss are in the midst of an amazing run as tag champions. With that win, they set a record for title defenses. Defenses that have included some interesting matches against both established performers and new faces on the women's roster.

To many, this run has also been a breath of fresh air for both women. Bliss and Flair felt out of place on SmackDown, as fans expect to see them at the top of the card, but that wasn't the direction the promotion was going with the division. Instead, allowing them to hold the tag titles give them a place of prominence, while getting the opportunity to remind fans why they love them to begin with.

Then there was Bayley and Valkyria. They've been telling an interesting story that will go either one of two ways. Either they will find their way to those titles, or they will have a massive fallout that leads to a violent feud, one the women's division needs. Bayley is an icon in women's wrestling and if Valkyria is the eventual champion many believe, she's going to have to get through Bayley at some point during that run. This match helped build intrigue in what is next for them.

Plus, there's no forgetting about Asuka and Kairi. Their act has been one of the best on Monday NIght Raw for months. There's a reason why WWE highlighted Asuka's 10-year run with the company, and she continues to deliver as a "must-see" act. Kairi shouldn't be forgotten about, as she's playing her role as the abused student to perfection. This moment not only positing them as the next top challengers, but also created an eyebrow-raising moment as to why they didn't attack Bayley, which also has an impact on her angle with Lyra.

Professional wrestling main events should be fantastic showcases of wrestling, while setting up things for the future. That is exactly what happened during the women's tag match. All four women delivered with every minute they had, and the outcome set up so much for the future. The WWE women's division is running the show and carrying the promotion in so many ways.
