The WWE of 2025 looks extremely different than what the promotion looked like 3 to 5 years ago. One of the biggest factors in that change is Endeavor's purchase of the promotion in 2023. Since the acquisition and merger with the UFC into TKO Group Holdings, fans have noticed drastic changes in the direction of the company, both in front of the screen and behind it. One that can’t be ignored is Triple H becoming more like Dana White, and that couldn’t be any clearer than after WrestleMania weekend.
Dana White has become one of the most important and powerful personalities in professional sports. This is quite the turnaround from the man who was running an organization within a sport that was banned across the United States. Since being installed as the UFC’s President in 2001, he’s led the company’s development from a niche sport, to becoming a mainstream, international attraction.
There’s no denying White’s success. But there’s also no denying how White has developed into a controversial figure. Fans, media, and critics alike push back against many of his leadership actions in the UFC, his political affiliations, and friendships with President Donald Trump, Ramzan Kadyrov, and the Saudi Arabian government. He was also shown slapping his wife in Las Vegas, a situation in which he faced no repercussions for his actions.
There’s a lot not to like about Dana White, but he’s easily the most important person in the UFC, and the main conduit for the promotion’s success. He’s the face of the UFC, bigger than any fighter who has ever been champion and will ever be champion. As goes Dana White’s public perception, so goes the UFC.
The parallels between Triple H and Dana White are clear
This is where it’s time to talk about Triple H being positioned in the same fashion. Throughout WrestleMania Week, Triple H was interviewed by some outlets similar to those that White takes during the build of major events. Triple H appeared on The Flagrant Podcast, where he had some controversial conversations with Andrew Schulz. From there, he’d offer up questionable comments during the post-show events.
Fans joke about Triple H not wanting to be featured by the WWE, but since he’s taken over as the main lead of WWE, he’s stood center stage more than nearly anyone else. Just as Dana White is positioned as the face of the UFC from a position of power, the same is happening with Triple H. Now, the difference is that the WWE has several stars who’ve become mainstream names, which means it will not be as easy as it was for present him as the UFC does with White, but that’s not entirely a bad issue.
Dana White was present at WrestleMania, being shown on camera twice during Night One. Before that, he did one of the intros to the show, speaking highly about Las Vegas, where the UFC is housed and where it set its roots to build its combat sports powerhouse. His success as a promoter has helped him become a major personality in the world of sports. Endeavor having two individuals of that type in its fold would be huge for the company. This is why fans and viewers are seeing Triple H presented as the face of the company and an attempt to make him the face of the entire brand.
