If someone is going to be booked to retire Brock Lesnar, then the man who needs to do it is Oba Femi.

Retirement tours are all the rave. Sting’s final run in All Elite Wrestling was a story that ended perfectly, with Sting having the moment he deserved after decades of performing. As John Cena wraps up his run, there are other careers coming to close. One whose retirement hasn’t been mentioned is Brock Lesnar, even with his advanced age. When the time comes for the book to close on his career, he should be finished off by Oba Femi.

The men’s division on the WWE main roster has grown stagnant. Several of the names at the top of the main event are at least 40 years old. As the women’s division features more youth and diversity, the men’s division is headed in the opposite direction.

Brock Lesnar is one of those performers. At 48 years old, Lesnar is one of the oldest in the division, yet he gets the superstar treatment every time he’s on air, the few times he’s on air. His presence continues to drive the ire of fans who are well aware of Lesnar being named in the Janel Grant lawsuit. But that doesn’t stop WWE from presenting Lesnar as one of its biggest stars.

Still, the time of the past generation is slowly coming to an end. John Cena is retiring. AJ Styles is talking about ending his career. Hiroshi Tanahashi is months away from his last match against Kazuchika Okada. Samoa Joe is once again AEW World Champion, with many speculating this is the start of his final run. Lesnar is a part of that group, and when the time comes expect WWE to make a big deal of his retirement run. When that happens, he should run into a major force of the future, Oba Femi.

Oba Femi versus Brock Lesnar is the right way to end the latter’s career

It’s almost hard to imagine a scenario where Brock Lesnar agrees to go out on his back in a final match. It’s the way that things “should” be done in professional wrestling. It is seen as an act of the older generation creating the space for the younger performers set to replace them. Lesnar is an anomaly in professional wrestling, for better or for worse. That anomaly has made him one of the biggest stars in the business. Getting a big, retirement-inducing victory over Lesnar would boost a performer's career to a new level. Giving that moment to a young name like Femi only makes sense.

Oba Femi is listed at 6’6, 310 pounds. At 27 years old, he’s one of the few performers in the business who stands over Lesnar in a dominating fashion. Seeing these two face off would clearly show the discrepancy in size, making Femi an immediate threat to The Beast Incarnate. Fans want believability, no one would be more believable than Femi being able to defeat Lesnar.

This wouldn’t need to be a huge, drawn out angle or match. Just set the date, like it's a big fight. A match worthy of a spot on any WrestleMania card. Femi versus Lesnar: The Birth of a Legacy.

Sadly, fans can hope but realize that the idea of WWE booking Brock Lesnar to lose to Oba Femi as a retirement match is a dream long deferred. Would it be fun? Sure. Would it be the right call for the future of the division and promotion? Yes. Will it come to pass? Probably not in the WWE that is presented today.
