WWE NXT is the land where prospects break through, showing they have the potential to be a main roster star. While the women’s division flourishes, the men’s division continues to lag behind. Still, Myles Borne looks to be the next performer up to get some shine, and he has some qualities that several have noticed online. This is his time to become a breakout star.

Just two years into his career, Myles Borne is the number one contender for the WWE NXT Championship. Borne was the last man standing in the battle royal on May 6, putting himself into the position to challenge Oba Femi at NXT Battleground on May 25.

Myles Borne as NXT’s next breakout performer

The running joke online is that Myles Borne is the secret son of Randy Orton. Do they look similar in the ring? Sure, but that’s a heavy comparison for one to carry so early in their career. Yet, Borne seems to be playing into that role, and it has helped him develop a growing fan following.

Borne is two years into his professional career, a product of the WWE Performance Center. Within these two years, he’s developed as a part of the No Quarter Catch Crew, a fantastic young team with Tavion Heights. His work has gained the trust of WWE decision makers to the point where he was allowed to venture into TNA Wrestling and Bloodsport for some fun excursions outside the WWE ring.

Fans have also embraced Borne because he has been deaf since a young age due to the treatment from Persistent Pulmonary Hypertension as a newborn. That limitation didn’t stop him from his athletic pursuits however, as he was a standout amateur wrestler before moving into the world of sports entertainment.

WWE is clearly putting a spotlight on younger performers. The “sink or swim” mentality may not work for everyone, as it is programmed. But Myles Borne has started to emerge from the pack and looks to be a young name who is breaking through to the top. Will he defeat Oba Femi at Battleground? Most likely not, but it will be a fun match to see.
