There’s been a lot of talk about Oba Femi on Daily DDT and throughout all wrestling media. If passing the proverbial “eye test” was truly a thing, Femi would pass it every time he steps in front of the camera. The man has all the makings of a top star in sports entertainment and reports are coming out that WWE sees him at that level. It’s even better to say that he’s seen at the same level of Bron Breakker, and that should lead to a massive run whenever he steps onto the main roster.
Bodyslam.net dropped an interesting update on the perception of Oba Femi after his initial appearances on the WWE main roster. According to the report delivered via Patreon, Femi is seen as a top-level prospect for the men’s division. In the report, WWE officials are described as "unbelievably impressed” with Femi so far, and that he is seen on par with Bron Breakker. That is big news for Femi’s fans and the need to freshen up the men’s division on both WWE SmackDown and Monday Night Raw.
Oba Femi must be presented as a main event threat immediately
WWE has long had a slowed approach when building young competitors into main event names. Bron Breakker is the only performer under the age of 30 in the main event scene across both shows. This fact speaks to several issues, including WWE’s inability to build up new stars in the men’s division. Oba Femi isn’t the only solution, but he goes a long way in helping solve the problem immediately.
There’s no word on when Femi will make his main roster debut, but the Bodyslam report states that it will be “very soon.” He’s the current WWE NXT Champion, and for all intents and purposes, he should just vacate that title. Keeping him around after NXT New Year’s Evil is an unnecessary risk and doesn’t help anyone involved. Yes, the men’s division in NXT could use someone to get a “rub” with a win over Femi, but that was squandered when he took the title back from Ricky Saints with such ease. Just have him vacate the title like Asuka did more than a decade ago and take his dominance to the main roster.
The WWE main roster needs Oba Femi. Look back at 2025 and it is clear as day. The men’s division was filled with rehashed feuds that involved performers who are 40 years and older. As these men slow down, they need to be replaced by performers who can provide fans with a reason to watch in the years to come. WWE struggles to capitalize on the excitement that young names bring in a quick fashion. This is why it is so important for Bron Breakker to defeat CM Punk on the January 5 edition of WWE Raw. 2026 should be a year of new faces and Oba Femi must stand tall as one of them.
WWE has a special prospect in Oba Femi. His main roster appearance and initial run must be treated with the care that Bron Breakker has seen. Anything less than that will be seen as a waste and further fuel some of the harshest criticisms of Triple H’s booking seen to date.
