On Monday, WWE superstar Finn Bálor walked up to Raw general manager Adam Pearce and revealed that he is entering this year's Royal Rumble. Unfortunately, Pearce quickly pumped the brakes on any excitement when he responded to Bálor's news by telling him that all 30 spots in the Men's Royal Rumble are already full and he won't get to participate.

Ultimately, this resulted in an angry Bálor causing Monday's main event title match between CM Punk and A.J. Styles to end in a DQ after interfering in the showdown and attacking Punk with multiple Coup de Grâces off the top rope.

Since the conclusion of Raw, some have just been taking WWE for their word and assuming Bálor definitely won't be participating in this weekend's Royal Rumble, while others think the company might have something up its sleeve with the veteran superstar.

Suggested scenario has Finn Balor shocking the WWE universe at the Royal Rumble

After Monday's latest episode of Raw, Bishop Dyer (formerly known as Baron Corbin) went on SiriusXM's "Off The Ropes" show and shared what he believes WWE might be cooking up when it comes to Bálor at this year's Royal Rumble.

"One thing I really liked on Raw last night, which led me to this conclusion, was Finn Balor declaring himself for the Rumble, and then [Adam] Pierce going, 'sorry bro, it's full,' because I don't think we've ever had that.

I've never [seen] someone go, 'I declare for the Rumble,' and then they're like, 'sorry.' So that, to me, tells me that he's going to figure out a way in the Rumble. I don't know what it is yet, [if] he's going to take someone out, take their spot, whatever it is.

And then with this stuff with Punk, because the match between them was awesome. I'm wondering if Finn somehow gets in the Rumble and then wins it all, and then he challenges Punk at WrestleMania, and we get like a demon, or we get something just awesome.

He's out of the judgment day completely; he's on his own, and you're cementing him back at the top of the card where I believe he belongs."

That would be quite the swerve by WWE if they were able to pull it off, especially since many are just assuming that Bálor won't be taking part in the Men's Royal Rumble this weekend.

But if you go back a few weeks, the crumbs have been dropped to lead people to believe that Bálor might be getting a notable singles run in the near future.

He just had an incredible match against Punk for the World Heavyweight Title in front of a hometown Belfast, Ireland crowd that started with a gigantic pop from the crowd after he came out to his old intro music.

Before that, he did multiple, fiery promos on TV that hinted at more of a singles run for himself in 2026. WWE also just released a video on its YouTube channel looking back at all he was able to achieve when he was down in NXT.

So, the signs are there. The question just remains whether or not Bálor is going to actually be given a legitimate push as a top guy. Winning the Royal Rumble this weekend would certainly be an easy way to answer that.
