WWE Saturday Night Main Event 2025 Predictions: Sami Zayn Will BETRAY CM Punk

WWE Saturday Night Main Event is scheduled to take place on May 24, 2025, live on Peacock, at Yuengling Center in Tampa, Florida, and Sami Zayn will betray CM Punk in his tag match against Seth Rollins and Bron Breakker.

WWE Saturday Night Main Event is the site where the polarizing figures of Jey Uso and Logan Paul will clash for the first time ever in the main event, and the winner will battle Gunther the following Raw on Memorial Day.

The other confirmed matches included: John Cena vs. R-Truth, Drew McIntyre vs. Damian Priest, Seth Rollins, Bron Breakker vs. CM Punk, and Sami Zayn. The following will provide some rationalized predictions for who will win those four announced matches, as well as storyline direction on the road to WWE SummerSlam 2025.

CM Punk & Sami Zayn vs. Seth Rollins & Bron Breakker [Tag Match]

The biggest swerve here would be for Sami Zayn to listen to Karrion Kross, turn heel like New Day did, and join The Paul Heyman faction after Seth Rollins goaded him into leaving Raw merely to escape their wrath. Betraying CM Punk should not be a problem for Zayn, as Punk did say during the build to the Royal Rumble that Sami Zayn is not on his level. Zayn took offense to that and took a shot at Punk that they're not on the same level because only one of them was a WrestleMania Main Eventer.

Now that Zayn missed Mania this year and Punk was in the main event, jealousy will kick in, and Zayn will be fed up with helping others before helping himself. He will snap during this tag match and carve the best path for himself to championship gold so that he can finally become World Champ for the first time in his career. With the help of the Paul Heyman faction, MITB could be his key to the castle, as he will use that to cash in on his closest friend, Jey Uso, to become champion this summer.

Zayn would be justified to cash in on Jey, as he missed Mania because Jey eliminated him from the Rumble. While Zayn was there for Jey to handle Bloodline Business at Survivor Series, Jey was not there for Zayn when Kevin Owens took Zayn out of commission at Elimination Chamber. As for Punk, his babyface payoff will come at SummerSlam once he assembles a team he can trust to take down this new faction. For now, Rollins and Breakker have to win here to solidify the growth of their faction.

Prediction: Seth Rollins & Bron Breakker

Drew McIntyre vs. Damian Priest [Steel Cage Match]

This all started when Priest cashed in MITB on McIntyre at Mania 40 last year to become the World Champ, ending McIntyre's title reign in five minutes after he finally won that world title in front of live fans. McIntyre tried to get his revenge at both Clash at the Castle in his home country and MITB over the summer, but he failed on both occasions. On top of that, Priest eliminated McIntyre from the Rumble and from the Chamber, once again hindering his chances at winning a world title at Mania.

It is questionable as to why this feud is continuing, as Mania seemed to be a good conclusion to the feud after Drew got his big win back. However, it looks like WWE is doing an unwanted trilogy for these two in 2025, whilst forgetting all the matches they already had in 2024. If that's the case, the feud can't end on a Saturday Night Main Event, so it is likely that Priest gets the win back here, so that they can finish the feud officially at either a bigger PPV like MITB or SummerSlam.

Prediction: Damian Priest

John Cena (c) vs. R-Truth [Non-Title Match]

R-Truth has satirically called John Cena his childhood hero when he is 5 years older than Cena. They have some history from Capitol Punishment 2011, where they battled for the WWE Title in the main event. Although R-Truth has not gained any momentum or credibility to earn a shot at Cena for the WWE Title, he is in this position due to the story he has teased with Cena. WWE actually saved itself by making this a non-title match and focusing on the storyline aspect of this contest.

The best thing to come out of this match is: If Cena beats R-Truth, R-Truth must join Cena to help him retain his title all the way to December out of devotion for his "childhood hero." That would make things interesting and not make this match a complete waste of time. It would be interesting to see if Cody Rhodes and Randy Orton return as Legacy, get revenge on Cena for the losses to him at WrestleMania and Backlash, respectively. It would be a neat tag match to set up for MITB in 2 weeks.

Prediction: John Cena

Main Event Jey Uso (c) vs. Logan Paul [World Heavyweight Title]

Jey Uso has already been getting a ton of heat for his lackluster title reign so far. The writing was on the wall a long time ago, and WWE launched the rocket on Jey too soon in his push. They struck while the iron was lukewarm, rather than when it was steaming hot. It got so bad that fans are even rooting for Logan Paul in this title match, which is sad because Paul is already subpar with his mic and character work, and Uso can't even outshine that low of a bar.

Nonetheless, it is still too early to end Jey Uso's World Title reign, as that would be booking malpractice. His expiration date will likely be SummerSlam, as this title reign was merely a test run that has failed miserably thus far, just like it did with Damian Priest last year. Also, despite defeating a former World Champion in AJ Styles at Mania, Paul should still not even be in the conversation for the World Title. He is thereby not the best superstar to dethrone Uso at this point in time.

Prediction: Main Event Jey Uso
