Jade Cargill has finally captured a major WWE championship as she reigns over the SmackDown women's division. Although her physique and presence gives the vibes of a top star, Cargill can be somewhat green in the ring as well as one-dimensional with her character. Quite frankly, it seems that WWE has embraced that, as her mic work has been reduced to one-liners and her in-ring work has been reduced to one-sided beatdowns. Here are three major threats to Jade Cargill's title reign.
Bianca Belair
Bianca Belair is rumored to return in 2026 from her debilitating finger injury. Her main target will be Cargill due to the storyline they had with Naomi. Belair will be puzzled at Cargill's new villainous attitude, as Cargill has been bullying all the women backstage. As the face, Belair will call Cargill out on this, and Cargill will be angry at Belair for suspiciously teaming with Naomi for the tag titles after Naomi heinously attacked her on the windshield of a car last year. This has strong storyline potential.
Charlotte Flair
Charlotte Flair is always a threat to the world title, as she has already collected fourteen of them. Another won't hurt, as she aims to surpass her father's title record. She even teased a future showdown with Cargill on a random SmackDown, so it would be difficult to neglect the idea that Flair would get a title shot at some point in 2026. Now that she lost the tag titles with Alexa Bliss, it's only a matter of time until she breaks away from Bliss and revisits her singles career for more gold.
Tiffany Stratton
Tiffany Stratton still has a rematch clause for the WWE Title that she lost to Cargill. Whenever she returns from that one-sided beatdown she received, she will definitely want her revenge on Cargill. Stratton held that title for over 300 days, so she will not take losing that title lightly. It would be counterproductive for Stratton to win the title back from the same person who dethroned her, but no one can put it past WWE to give Stratton an astronomical push, like she was given this past year.
Honorable Mention: Nia Jax
Nia Jax is a former Queen of the Ring Winner and former World Champion who always finds herself in the title picture. She has history with Jade Cargill, as she did make her daughter cry in 2024 and even injured Cargill in a steel steps spot to the point that she bled during a controversial triple threat title match with Tiffany Stratton in 2025. Although Jax has failed multiple title shots in 2025, she is now a formidable force with Lash Legend on her side and can feasibly take over the division in 2026.
