WrestleMania XXX Preview: The Shield vs. Kane and The New Age Outlaws

Six-man tag action at WrestleMania XXX for The Shield. If The Shield are going out now, a great six-man tag at WrestleMania would be the way to do it.

After getting beaten down by ten men on SmackDown a few weeks ago, including Kane and The New Age Outlaws, The Shield have been enacting some revenge on their attackers. At WrestleMania XXX, they get their chance to enact revenge on Kane and The Outlaws.

Andrew’s Take: I get there trying to give Kane and the New Age Outlaws their WrestleMania moment, but having the Shield face them and the Wyatt Family not even in a match is unacceptable. We are supposed to be in a youth movement. The Shield has been the group that carried the brand all year long does not receive the matchup that they rightfully deserve. No doubt the Shield goes over in this match and if they don’t I think it’ll be at injustice to the Shield. I think this match will be good, but if The Shield did go ahead and face the Wyatt’s I think it could have been a great match.

Andrew’s Prediction: The Shield Wins

Stephen’s Take: It’s funny to think that the Shield are still together, and I believe this is a long overdue split as well. I just know what each guy in the Shield can do together, but I am ready to see each one do their own thing.  There’s no doubt Roman Reigns is going to get the big push coming out of the split, which I think does happen at Mania.

I see this breaking down by Dean Ambrose somehow aligning himself with Kane or just costing his team the match.  Maybe Reigns loses and Dean wants to take him out.  There’s got to be that friction again, and we can get Reigns and Ambrose for the US title come Extreme Rules.  I would be very up for Reigns taking the title and seeing where he can go.

Maybe Kane picks up the win for his team on Reigns and we’ll just get a match out of those two come Extreme Rules.  That seems the most likely scenario.  That could mean the Shield is together a bit longer and hey, we don’t ever have a good face group like them, so maybe that would work better.

Stephen’s Prediction: Kane gets the pin on Roman Reigns

Mike’s Take: The Shield are long overdo for a split. I think we will certainly see them have a Triple Threat Tables or Ladder match at Extreme Rules in May.

I don’t think there will be a definitive split at WrestleMania, or Raw the night after, but we will be left with a lot of questions both nights.

The Shield will dominate this match, but Reigns will hit an incidental spear on Rollins or Ambrose and The Shield will begin to crack.

Mike’s Prediction: Kane pins Seth Rollins
