Dean Ambrose

While I maintain that he needs a heel turn, those around me have successfully convinced me that Dean Ambrose first needs a lengthy run as a face.

A massive, incredibly over and, potentially, once-in-a-generation face.

It’ll take some serious work and development to get on their level, but in terms of his usage, Dean Ambrose could be somewhere in between Mick Foley and “Stone Cold” Steve Austin as a thorn in The Authority’s side.

It’s already in progress, so why stop now?

Ambrose has the perfect blend of reckless instability and degenerate appeal. He’s already one of the best and most over talents in the WWE, yet his upside remains significantly higher than his current level of popularity and success.

Already in a program with Seth Rollins and The Authority, Ambrose can rival Triple H in the career-spanning way that Steve Austin did Vince McMahon.

I’ll try not to get ahead of myself, but this could be the type of forefront-and-background feud that lasts a long, long time.

The keys for Ambrose will be to continue developing his grungy and normally unappealing persona. Rather than conforming to the WWE standard for faces, Ambrose’s willingness to go against the grain is vital.

The potential here is immense. It’s all about how WWE chooses to tap it.
