Sheamus vs. Curtis Axel

Axel came out by himself, no Ryback. As the match was getting ready to start, Cesaro came out in a suit to join commentary.

Sheamus was in full control of Axel at the beginning of this match, as commentary hyped the now-international WWE Network, and Cesaro used his linguistic talents.

Axel used pretty much everything the ring apron would give him in order to gain control of Sheamus, and it took all the fight he had.

Meanwhile, Michael Cole tried to help Cesaro use his five languages to sell the Network, but Cesaro repeatedly made it clear that he does not take direction from Cole.

Axel was really impressive, as Sheamus continued to fight back, but Axel continuously kept control.

Towards the end, Axel decided to give a disrespectful slap to Sheamus, but it only fired Sheamus up and helped him get back in the match. This led to Sheamus’ comeback, and him hitting the Brogue Kick for the win.

Sheamus defeats Axel via pinfall.

After the match, Cesaro got up from the commentary table and grabbed Sheamus’ United States Championship. Sheamus looked on angrily, and Cesaro nonchalantly gave the belt back to Sheamus, via a no-look toss.

3.5 out of 5 stars – Pretty good match. Axel has grown on me a lot recently.

Triple H announcement

Michael Cole and Byron Saxton were on commentary, hyping the Big Show vs. Erick Rowan match, when Cole announced that they had a breaking news announcement from Triple H.

Triple H appeared on the TitanTron and announced that John Cena requested his rematch clause, and Brock Lesnar accepted, and that Cena would get his rematch at Night of Champions.
