WWE Morning Paper

So you’re getting ready for school or work in the morning and want to read up on fresh content before leaving for the day? Come read The WWE Morning Paper! This will be your weekday (possibly future weekends as well) hub for the latest news inside and outside the squared circle for Vince McMahon’s company as well as TNA sprinkled in (unless they get cancelled).

Here’s the wrestling information you need to know for August 20th, 2014 version of The WWE Morning Paper.

WWE Morning Paper News

  • WWE Network is apparently doing better than expected in Canada.

"The WWE Network launch with Rogers Communications in Canada has been a success so far, exceeding expectations that WWE officials had. While some fans have expressed frustration with the WWE Net Pak Rogers offers, people are still signing up. There was some concern that the $11.99 price point and the limited on-demand content may be a problem for sales but so far that’s not the case."

  • Fernando of Los Matadores returned to action yesterday on Main Event. Remember how they were hyped with so many vignettes last year and had that win streak? Neither do I.
  • If you watched Main Event tonight, you saw Michael Cole take over the play-by-play duties from Tom Phillips. No reason has been given for the change.

"Michael Cole is now on the WWE Main Event broadcast team. He and Byron Saxton will be handling commentary on Tuesday nights from here on out. Tom Phillips was previously working with Saxton on Main Event."

WWE Morning Paper Rumors

  • Wrestling Zone has the rumored match card for Night of Champions out. It looks like no Triple H vs. Roman Reigns, yet.

"At this time, the only confirmed match for WWE Night of Champions in September is John Cena challenging Brock Lesnar for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship. There will likely be some sort of additional stipulation attached to the match."

  • There’s apparently a “big swerve” planned for the Cena-Lesnar rematch. Let the speculation begin.
  • Sheamus and Cesaro had an interaction on Twitter that hinted a United States Title match at NOC.

WWE Morning Paper Opinions

"Cesaro is more than the role player WWE is using him to be now.A wrestler capable of great matches, an athlete, a powerhouse and a mat master, Cesaro is miles from his ceiling while the company relegates him to an unimportant piece of its programming. That can be fixed."

WWE Morning Paper Video of the Day

With The Shield documentary being on WWE Network tonight, check out when all three faced off against each other in the old FCW. Roman Reigns was then known as Leakee.
