With Money in the Bank now in the rear view mirror, we look ahead to WWE Battleground.

Last night, we saw Baron Corbin become Mr. Money in the Bank. With the lone wolf now in possession of the Money in the Bank briefcase, the WWE Championship Picture can change at a moment’s notice. With Mahal defeating Randy Orton for a second time the next step in the title picture is already somewhat unknown. Battleground will take place on July 23 and will resonate from the Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia, PA. The event will be a SmackDown Live- exclusive pay per view.

With no title changes taking place at Money in the Bank, one can assume that we may see a rematch or two. The show also saw the debut of Mike and Maria Kanellis, could they possibly be on the WWE Battleground pay per view?

A lot can happen from here to July 23, so that being said, here the WWE Battleground match card predictions.

SmackDown Live Women’s Championship Match
Naomi (c) vs Becky Lynch

When the first Women’s Money in the Bank Ladder Match took place Becky Lynch looked to be in prime position to become the first ever Ms. Money in the Bank before James Ellsworth got involved. With Lynch having a legit gripe for a title shot I could see Shane McMahon or Daniel Bryan giving her an opportunity to earn that title shot. With the controversy surrounding the Women’s Money in the Bank the SmackDown Live Women’s title picture is somewhat clustered until we here Bryan and McMahon address the issue on Tuesday’s SmackDown Live.

Obviously, a face vs face title match is somewhat rare nowadays but with Naomi stating she was a fighting champion and Lynch having a legitimate argument for a title shot I could see it working out here. Carmella cashing in Money in the Bank from now to the 27th can throw a wrench in these plans but that’s part the fun of now having a women’s briefcase.
