Monday Night RAW – 10/19/09
Here’s the results from Monday Night RAW on 10/19/09:
Night started off with the introduction of RAW’s guest host, Snoop D. O. Double G-izzle aka Snoop Dogg (I swear I’ll never type or talk like that again). He announced some of the night’s matches including Triple H vs. John Cena, Randy Orton vs. Ted Dibiase, and Shawn Michaels vs. Chris Jericho.
D-Generation X came out and cut a promo about this Sunday’s Bragging Rights PPV and the teams participating in the 7-on-7 tag match.
5-on-5 Tag Match
(TEAM RAW) Big Show, Jack Swagger, Kofi Kingston, Cody Rhodes, & Mark Henry defeats MVP, Evan Bourne, Chavo Guerrero, Chris Masters & Primo.
Randy Orton and Ted Dibiase have words backstage immediately before their match up.
Orton defeats Dibiase via pinfall after hitting the RKO.
Video package shown on the life and career of Capt. Lou Albano. R.I.P.
Sneak peak at Snoop Dogg’s newest video for the track called “Gangsta Love.”
Backstage segment with Jillian Hall singing “Gin and Juice,” Chavo Guerrero begging to be on Team RAW, and Santino dressed up like Charlie Brown. Then it looks like Snoop’s going to light up some of his personal stash… of scented candles… what did you expect for TV-PG?
Triple H defeats John Cena via pinfall after hitting a 3rd Pedigree, in what could possibly be Cena’s last match on RAW.
The Miz defeats Marty Jannetty via pinfall after hitting the Skull Crushing Finale (Yes, you read that right! There was an indy wrestler, TJ Perkins, in the ring ready to go, and Snoop Dogg changed the match last second).
Diva Championship Match
Melina defeats Jillian Hall via pinfall after hitting the Primal Scream leg drop.
Chavo Guerrero, who was out at ringside for the Diva match, starts picking on Hornswoggle, and Snoop Dogg saves the day. Then a dance party breaks out mid-ring with Snoop and some of the Divas.
Shawn Michaels vs. Chris Jericho match never happened because it turned into a showdown between Team RAW and Team Smackdown!
Chaos ensues as RAW goes off the air.
QUICK THOUGHTS:
Triple H vs. Cena, Match of the Night for sure! Went just over 20 mins.
Glad WWE did a video package for the late Capt. Lou Albano. He was one of the greatest managers of all time. It’s a shame they don’t use managers that often anymore.
Diva matches are just dumb. Yes the women are eye-candy, but if you want to see real women’s wrestling, tune in either to TNA, ROH or the women’s promotion, Shimmer.
Was a little bummed that TJ Perkins didn’t actually get to wrestle The Miz. I’ve met TJ once at an indy show here in the SF Bay Area and he’s a fantastic athlete. It was good to see Marty Jannetty again though.
Can’t wait to see Dibiase and Orton go at it for reals. That could be a great feud once Dibiase leaves Legacy.
Funniest line of the night, “Aren’t you supposed to be Jamaican?!? What happened to your accent?” Triple H to Kofi Kingston.
Santino dressing up as Charlie Brown with Snoop Dog as the guest host… I get the lame joke, but is someone who’s in the TV-PG age demographic going to get it? I don’t think so!
