After winning a Battle Royal last week, an NXT Rookie is hosting Monday Night RAW and he’s promised to make it A-List all the way.  Who was it?  Find out right here!

The NEW World Heavyweight Champion, Jack Swagger comes to the ring.  He has a video package play to show how he won the title last week on Smackdown.  “Last Friday on Smackdown, I made history… I was considering cashing in against John Cena, but then I thought I should cash it in against someone better, that was Chris Jericho… Now I have to consider giving my talents exclusively to Smackdown because no one on RAW compares to my abilities.”

  • Interrupted by John Cena who starts off by congratulating Swagger, and calls him the luckiest man in the world.  He also says sarcastically that, “We’re all sad to see him leave!”  Cena then calls Swagger a liar and “not championship material, and behind all the American American bravado, there’s a weasel!”  Cena then challenges Swagger and is willing to put his WWE Title on the line.
  • Interrupted by Randy Orton, “I’m sure Mr. Swagger would want to face the man who beat him last week… me!”
  • Interrupted by The Miz & Big Show.  Miz has mic, “Really?  So typical of you two… this show isn’t about you, it’s about ShoMiz…”
  • Interrupted by guest host, and NXT Rookie, David Otunga.  He introduces himself to the fans and wrestlers from the ramp and then makes a couple of matches.  Swagger vs. Orton (non-title) and ShoMiz vs. Cena and Batista for the Unified Tag Team Titles.
  • Orton then tries to hit Cena with a RKO, but Cena blocks it, pushes Orton right into Swagger who he hits with an RKO.

Kofi Kingston vs. Sheamus
WINNER: Sheamus via pin fall after hitting The Edge

  • After match, Sheamus grabs a pipe from under the ring and hits Kofi in the head with it.  Sheamus takes the mic, badmouths Shawn Michaels, claims he’s better than HBK because he won the WWE title in six months, and then blames Triple H for ruining his WrestleMania moment, so that’s why he attacked him last week when he was saying goodbye to HBK.  Sheamus then calls Trips out saying, “I don’t think you have one good match left in you.”
  • Trips comes out to the ring and grabs his sledge hammer to counter Sheamus’ pipe.  Trips hits him in the guy with it and Sheamus runs for the hills.

  • Hornswoggle sneaks into the party and eats some of his 427 green M&M’s.  Otunga’s friends chase after him.

Unified Tag Team Title Match
ShoMiz (Champions) vs. John Cena & Batista

Ted DiBiase comes to the ring with the Million Dollar Belt.  Takes the mic, “My dad was inducted into the Hall of Fame, but last week he did something he never did, tried to act like a father… but you know how to win me over, through my bank account.  So thanks dad for the trust fund and your Million Dollar Belt!”

  • Mid match, Cena went for the hot tag to Otunga and he dropped off the apron allowing Big Show to land his punch.
  • After match, Batista comes down and hits Cena with a Batista Bomb.  Takes the mic, “I’m evoking my rematch clause at Extreme Rules!  You’re not going to make me tap out because you can’t win that way… It’ll be a Last Man Standing match!”

QUICK THOUGHTS:

This was just an average show for me.  I actually have to say that when I was watching the DVR of this, I fell asleep.  There wasn’t a hook to keep me engaged in the show.  Swagger is just boring now.  At least when he wasn’t champion he was a cocky, arrogant, S.O.B.  Now he just stands there all “Mr. Serious” and it just pains me to watch him more now than ever because they’re giving him more speaking roles and that damn lisp drives me nuts!

Otunga didn’t do too badly.  When I watched NXT last week, I figured it’d be Otunga hosting RAW, and I had a feeling he’d end up in a match.  SHOCKER!  He did end up in the main event.  Of course, he has to screw Cena to help out Batista and continue on that boring rivalry.

Ted DiBiase cut a heel promo by himself, and it just sounded like he’s complaining and being whinny.  I was hoping that they would turn him face, but I’m guessing that’s not in the stars for him in the near future.  Oh well…

We got our first announcement for the WWE Draft in a few weeks.  Looks like it’s time to shake things up again, and it couldn’t come at a better time when RAW is getting stagnant and boring!
