AJ Styles comes to the ring, “Due to the AJ Styles victory party, Ric Flair will be here later… AJ Styles is pound for pound the best wrestler in the world… I beat “The Pope” (D’Angelo Dinero) and I did it all on my own… It doesn’t matter where we go, I’m the best looking, best athlete, I’m the work horse of TNA…”
- Interrupted by Rob Van Dam, “You seem to think you’re the best wrestler in TNA… not so! Maybe you were, but times have changed… To tell you the truth, I’ve never been quite as impressed by you as others… How can you complain about having the top spot when there are wrestlers like RVD!”
- Jeff Hardy‘s music hits and he comes to the ring, “You’ve got a little head to be someone so big headed… the Charismatic Enigma is here to complete his title collection and become the TNA Champion!”
- Hulk Hogan joins the conversation in the ring, “Now this is what I’m talking about, and why everyone is talking about TNA… It’s all about that title! We’re raising the bar here… When you’re the champ, you’re the best at what you do… each and every night you have to prove you’re the best when you have a target on your back… (To RVD/Hardy) How bad do you guys want in? To put your friendship aside to see who’s the very best, tonight!?!?”
- Hulk then makes a match for the #1 contender to the TNA World Title, Hardy vs. RVD tonight!
- AJ Styles is a little upset about this, and complains that he’s not going to be ready by the next PPV, Sacrifice, to face either one of them.
- Hogan fills him in that the winner of the #1 contender match, gets the title shot TONIGHT!
Backstage: Ric Flair is walking into the building and is told by a camera man of what just happened, and he’s furious!
Knockout Tag Team Titles
The Beautiful People (Champions) vs. Daffney & ODB
WINNERS: Beautiful People via pin fall after Lacey Von Erich sprayed hair spray in ODB’s eyes allowing Velvet Sky to get the roll up
Backstage: Jeremy Borash is outside of AJ Styles’ locker room and we listen into their conversation. Flair is upset, but he knows that Styles can take either RVD or Hardy out. What Flair really wants is a rematch between Team Flair and Team Hogan…
- JB enters room and calls Flair on it… Flair tells JB, they’ve (Team Hogan) got five minutes to meet them in the ring!
Abyss & Jeff Jarrett make their way to the ring. Abyss takes the mic, “The war between Team Flair and Team Hogan ended at Lockdown when we beat your asses! If RVD and Jeff Hardy weren’t already in a match, we’d have no problem beating you from pillar to post…”
- Team Flair comes to the ring, and Flair sicks the dogs on Abyss and Jarrett. The numbers game allows Team Flair to get the advantage until “The Freak” Rob Terry comes to help clear the ring.
- After ring clears, Eric Bischoff comes out of the tunnel to the ramp, “I thought you learned your lesson last night…” Bischoff makes a match for Team Flair against a different look Team Hogan, one of which will be a mystery partner.
Backstage: Matt Morgan approaches Shannon Moore about being his tag team partner to help defend his Tag Team Titles. Moore pretty much blows him off.
Backstage: Hulk Hogan and Eric Bischoff are walking and talking. Hulk pays him compliments on conning Flair at Lockdown. Bischoff compliments Hogan on his match bookings.
- Hogan eludes to a superstar showing up tonight for the Team Flair/Team Hogan match, and Bischoff tells him it’s all good.
- They also talk about a ranking system for TNA World Title matches to debut next week.
Backstage: RVD on his way to the ring for his match against Jeff Hardy talking about how he wants to prove to the world that he’s the Whole F’N Show!
#1 Contenders Match for the TNA World Title
Rob Van Dam vs. Jeff Hardy
WINNER: Rob Van Dam via pin fall after hitting the Five Star Frog Splash
Backstage: Christy Hemme catches up with both RVD and Hardy and they give their thoughts on the match. Mutual respect is shown. RVD takes mic, “If AJ was watching that match, you’ll know what your in for!”
Backstage: Abyss giving his troops a pep talk. He thanks Rob Terry for stepping up like Hulk was asking for. They still do not know who their forth man is going to be.
Lethal Lockdown Rematch (Sort of) [Enter at intervals; Tag Team rules apply; No weapons]

WINNERS: Team Hogan via pin fall after Joe cleaned house and hit a Muscle Buster on Robert Roode
- After match (during commercial), Ric Flair came to the ring and challenged Abyss to a match next week. One on one, ring vs. ring (Hall of Fame rings).
TNA World Title Match
Rob Van Dam vs. AJ Styles (Champion)
WINNER: Rob Van Dam via pin fall after hitting the Five Star Frog Splash to become the NEW TNA World Champion!
- After the match, there was a huge celebration in the ring and many of the superstars that have helped out Team Hogan came to party, including Dixie Carter.
QUICK THOUGHTS:
BEST TNA IN WEEKS MAYBE MONTHS!!! Holy crap! RVD you are the man! Four matches in just over 24 hours, and he won all four of them! To cap it all, he’s the NEW TNA World Champion! WOW! This is what I expected from Hogan and Bischoff all along! I know you cannot have PPV quality programming on regular TV every night, but this is what I hoped for when they first walked in the door! DAMN GOOD SHOWING TONIGHT TNA! See if you make it this good every week, I don’t really care about all the damn backstage segments!
The Lethal Lockdown rematch was nowhere near as good as RVD’s two matches, but just to hear the crowd go nuts when Samoa Joe came back, and then he just goes bonkers on Team Flair was just fantastic!
