WWE Superstars – 4/22/10

WWE Superstars is back on WGN America, and you could obviously tell that a lot of this was taped before all of the RAW superstars made it back from Europe.  The show had a heavy dose of Smackdown superstars.  Find out here if any RAW superstars made this show:

Shad Gaspard vs. Goldust
WINNER: Shad via pin fall after hitting  Thugnificent (STO)

Yoshi Tatsu vs. Zack Ryder with Rosa Mendez
WINNER: Tatsu via pin fall after hitting a Spinning Hell Kick off the top rope

Michael Cole & Jerry Lawler run down part of the card for the Extreme Rules PPV.

Carlito & Michael Tarver come to the ring.  Carlito takes the mic, “Despite being one of the only RAW Superstars to make it to RAW, Carlito was not even scheduled for a match… I’m sick of this…”  He puts all guest hosts on notice.

Carlito with Michael Tarver vs. John Morrison
WINNER: Morrison via pin fall after hitting the Flying Chuck Kick

  • Tarver tried to distract the referee to help Carlito, but once again, he cost Carlito the match.

QUICK THOUGHTS:

The opening match was pretty once sided to get big Shad over as a heel.  It was announced during the beat down of Goldust that Shad will take on his former partner, JTG, in a strap match this weekend at Extreme Rules.

Tatsu and Ryder had a pretty good match.  Had to be match of the night because the others weren’t as good as they could’ve been.  The young talent in this match was pimped out as fodder for the draft and the future of both brands.

Main event was sort of a bust for me because of Tarver getting involved again.  It’s been like three matches in a row now that Carlito has lost because of his NXT rookie, and it’s getting old to me.

Word of warning, Smackdown is once again being preempted in my local area.  I’m not happy about it, but I must deal with it.  So expect my review of Smackdown to come on Sunday morning along with my predictions for Extreme Rules.
