WWE NXT – 6/29/10
Well tonight is the night on WWE NXT where we get to see what the pros and the WWE Universe think of the new cast of rookies. Tonight is the first NXT poll. Who will top the list, and who will need to work a little harder to stick around? Find out right here:
Co-Host, Ashley Valence is on the stage and welcomes us to NXT. She reminds the fans at home to log on to WWE.com and vote for your favorite rookie tonight for the 1st NXT poll. She then intros the NXT rookies.
- Ashley then announces that tonight will be a surprise elimination in addition to the NXT poll. Whoever is the low man on the totem pole will go home TONIGHT and be the first one eliminated from this season.
Matt Striker then takes over as he intros our first challenge of the season, keg carrying. Each NXT rookie gets a chance to carry a keg from the aisle, around the ring, and back across the finish line.
- Only four competitors actually finish the challenge with a time. The winner is Lucky Cannon. With his victory, Cannon has won immunity and cannot go home.

- Eli Cottonwood
- Husky Harris
ELIMINATED: Titus O’Neil
Striker gets comment from O’Neil as he exits. He still wants everyone to “take life as a game and make it a win!”
QUICK THOUGHTS:
Now because it’s WWE, I don’t know if the fan voting is rigged or not, but at least WWE is learning to allow only one vote per computer. If it isn’t rigged, then my vote for Percy Watson actually helped… I guess.
Kaval is almost running the same race that Daniel Bryan did last season… 1st place after the first poll, but at least Kaval actually has a win. I figured he’d be up near the top, but I didn’t think he’d be #1.
I’m hoping that Husky Harris is around for awhile. He’s got ability for an overweight guy, and it’s something that WWE doesn’t have right now on their roster… I’m purposely overlooking Mark Henry because they bill him as “The World’s Strongest Man” and completely ignore his weight. Harris did good against MVP, but the only worry I have is can he last in a match because he looked a little blown up after things were done.
Line of the night is a tie between Josh Matthews & Michael Cole. Both guys took shots at the new co-host Ashley during her opening lines about the elimination. Matthews first said, “Can we eliminate Ashley?” Cole followed it up with, “I agree with you, maybe she should be eliminated!” Frankly I agree with this assessment. Why do we need a co-host anyway? I know she’s better looking than Striker, but considering she’s not good at her job, it makes it hard to listen to her.
