Alberto Del Rio vs. Rob Van Dam in a first round match-up for the Intercontinental Championship #1 Contender’s Tournament

Van Dam wins with the Five-Star Frog Splash, he’ll meet the winner of the Cesaro-Mark Henry match. These guys fought, not too long ago, on pay-per-view for the World Heavyweight Championship. I would have no problem with either one of these guys winning this tournament. They would bring something new to the title that now has a different standing, thanks to the unification of the world titles. That being said, this match was disappointing, and Van Dam’s probably going to meet Cesaro in the second round, and I don’t like his odds in that match.

Triple H, Stephanie McMahon, Randy Orton and Batista backstage

Triple H and Stephanie are talking, when Orton and Batista enter separately and they all shake hands. They can’t be heard as the announce team was talking, but this was meant to be seen not heard. Seeing them all shake hands and look on the same page is a big storyline development that will have a huge impact.

Back from commercial, they can be heard. Triple H is hyping The Shield, and says that when they are on the same page they are nearly unstoppable. Then he says that when him, Orton and Batista are on the same page, they are unstoppable. Batista and Orton say that they are focused on the world title, and The Shield are Triple H’s problem. Maybe they’re not on the same page.
