TNA Impact! (4/17) Results: EY’s First Title Defense

Willow and EC3 start things off, Willow with a clothesline then a kick to the gut followed by a drop kick. Willow with a splash onto EC3 for a near fall. Willow goes for the whisper in the wind, but Spud knocks him down. Ec3 with kicks to the back of Willow, he hits a suplex for a near fall. EC3 with right hands to the face of Willow and tags in Spud. Rockstar quickly tags in EC3 who kicks Willow in the face. Ec3 with a suplex, he locks in a chin lock submission. He fights out of the submission with right hands and then rolls him up for a near fall. Spud kicks him in the face and EC3 drop kicks Willow in the knee. EC3 with a neck breaker for a near fall. EC3 tags in Spud, who slaps Willow in the face. Willow kicks spud in the nuts and then drop kicks EC3. Willow nails the twist of fate on spud for the win.

Winner: Willow at 4:21

EC3 attacks the knee of Willow right after the match. All of a sudden Kurt Angle comes out to make the save. They stare off and then Angle hits a German suplex on EC3 to clear the ring.

-Commercial Break-

Kurt Angle is still in the ring and he grabs a microphone. He says that he is the greatest wrestler alive and is back! He says that EC3 tried to end his career, but he will end when he says it will. He says he has had many injuries, but EC3 did not end him. He says that EC3 is going to find out why they call him the cyborg. He is going to break EC3’s arm, legs and every other bone in his body. He says this fight will not end until they carry EC3 out of the ring in a body bag.

Bobby Roode is in the back and says that the IT Factor of pro wrestling is issuing an open challenge tonight.

-Commercial Break-

Sanada video package is shown to hype up his match with Tigre Uno for tonight.

Kenny King comes out on stage; he says that he is disappointed that he has not been used as of late. However, last week he came back home and says there is a no sheriff in town with MVP in charge. He says that has all the skill sets of being an all star and is still on the bench. He says that he is not wrestling tonight, but will be commentary for this next match.

Tigre Uno Vs. Sanada

They lock up, Sanada hits a dropkick on Uno. He misses a splash in the corner and Uno goes for a springboard moonsult and he misses. Sanada with a springboard clothesline for a near fall. Uno with a head take over for a near fall. Sanada then hits a RKO type move for a near fall. Sanada goes to the top rope, but misses a moonsult. Uno hits a brain buster. Uno goes to the top rope and hits the Sabertooth Splash for the win.

Winner: Uno in 3:33

Bully Ray is in the back talking to someone who is not seen and telling them to put Roode through a table for him.

-Commercial Break-

Roode says he hopes that Bully Ray is taking notes because the table master is in the ring. His opponent makes his way out to the ring and it’s Gunner.

Open Challenge Tables Match: Bobby Roode Vs. Gunner

Roode attacks Gunner from behind, he puts the boots to him. Gunner fights back with right hands and then hits a clothesline. More punches by Gunner to Roode in the corner. Roode reverses and hits a neck breaker. He grabs a table, but Gunner drop kicks the table into Roode’s chest. Gunner with a clothesline, he tries to send Roode face first into a table, but blocked. Roode attempts the same thing, but blocked. Gunner sends Roode shoulder first into the steel steps. Gunner attempts to suplex Roode off the apron to the floor, but Roode dropkicks him off the apron to counter. Roode sets a table up in the corner, Roode sends Gunner face first into the turnbuckle, but Gunner hulks up. Roode kicks him in the gut, and then hits a neck breaker off the top rope. Roode sets a table up in the ring, he goes for the Roode bomb, but blocked. Gunner with a flying knee to the face of Roode. Gunner moves the table and when he turns around, Roode hits a spine buster on him. Roode goes for the Roode bomb, but blocked. Gunner with a head butt and a splash in the corner. He hits a slingshot suplex which fires the crowd up. Gunner puts Roode on top of the table, he goes to the top rope. James Storm comes down and distracts Gunner. Gunner knocks him off the top rope. Roode sends Gunner off the top rope, but when he goes flying into the table it does not break. Roode hits the Roode bomb on Gunner for the win. Storm beats down Gunner some more after the match, but Bully Ray makes the save.

Winner: Roode in 5:56.

Eric Young is in the back saying that he will show the world that he is crazy and why he is the champion.

-Commercial Break-

Bully Ray and Gunner are shown talking in the back; Ray says that they should tag up next week against Roode and Storm next week. I guess it’s official.

TNA World Heavyweight Title On The Line In A Monsters Ball Match: Abyss Vs. Eric Young ©

EY starts the match right off the bat by throwing weapons at Abyss. Young hits him with a cookie sheet, but when he tries to hit him with a kendo stick, Abyss throws him out of the ring. Abyss with right hands, Abyss sends EY head first into the apron and back into the ring. Abyss has a trashcan, but EY nails a baseball slide. He goes for an outside dive, but Abyss hits him in the head with the trash can.

-Commercial Break-

We’re back, Abyss misses a clothesline and EY lands a few right hands. He hits a dropkick; he nails an elbow to the face. He attempts a dropkick, but Abyss sends EY into the corner which has a steel chair wedged between it head first (Cool Spot) Abyss grabs a bag full of tacks, he sprays them in the ring, but EY hits him in the nuts with a cheese grater. EY with a clothesline that knocks the monster down. EY goes for the piledriver on the tacks, but blocked. Abyss grabs Janice from under the ring; he gets back into the ring. Abyss misses with Janice and EY kicks him in the nuts. EY grabs Janice and attempts to hit him with it. Abyss blocks and hits a choke slam on EY and lands on the tacks for a near fall. Abyss grabs a barbed wire board and sends it into the ring. Abyss goes for the black hole slam, but blocked by EY when he bites his thumb. EY drop kicks Abyss onto the board and hits an elbow off the top rope for the win.

The winner and still champion: EY in 12:05.
