The Shield backstage
Ambrose said that on Sunday, The Shield will prove that evolution has passed Evolution by, it sounded better when he said it. Rollins then mocked all the ways that Evolution tries to show power, and how The Shield has real power. Reigns showed his fist and said “this is today, this is tomorrow, this is the future.” These guys never disappoint.
Evolution promo/Randy Orton vs. Roman Reigns
Triple H talked about how The Shield took out 11 guys on SmackDown. He said he should be mad, but he’s proud. He said it’s because they remind him of Evolution. Orton said that they can think they are the new Evolution all they want, and Batista pointed out that the problem with that is that the real Evolution is still here. The Shield then made their entrance, which was quickly followed by Ric Flair’s entrance. Flair got on the mic and talked about his time in The Four Horsemen being similar to his time in Evolution, and that greatness comes full circle. He said The Shield is what Evolution once was, and then he left after shaking The Shield’s hands, while Evolution stood shocked.
The match ended when a six man brawl broke out and the referee called for the bell. Evolution had control of the beatdown most of the way, but a springboard knee from Seth Rollins turned the tide, leading to Reigns hitting Triple H with a spear. The Shield then looked to hit Triple H with a triple powerbomb, but Orton and Batista got involved just enough to let Triple H get away and Evolution headed back up the ramp. The Shield stood tall at the end of this show, but they didn’t hit the final blow on Triple H, that’s what they need to do on Sunday.
