Stephanie McMahon and John Cena promo
Stephanie talked about how patient she has been with Daniel Bryan and Brie Bella, but they have shown her no respect. Stephanie then announced that Bryan will defend the title against Kane at Money in the Bank in a Stretcher Match, if he is cleared by that time. If Bryan is not cleared, the Money in the Bank Match will be contested with the title on the line, no briefcase. Stephanie was then interrupted by Cena.
Cena then came out and stood up for Bryan and his decision to keep the title. He said that Stephanie has proven time and time again that she doesn’t like Bryan, and that has gotten in the way of what’s fair and what’s best for business. He said Bryan proves himself to be a champion every time he gets in the ring. He ranked Stephanie’s job performance as a zero on a 1-10 scale, commenting that “zero means you suck”. Stephanie got the last word on Cena, putting him in a match with Bryan’s potential Money in the Bank opponent, Kane. It was really cool to see Cena, as the top babyface, stand up for another face in the company. If you’re going to have heel authority figures, the faces need a leader, and that leader should be Cena. Cena played that role here, and he did it beautifully.
