“Selling”

Definition: The art of making a move look as impressive and impactful as possible. Typically done most by the smaller superstars to make the bigger guys look good.

Alternate definition: Dolph Ziggler.

“No Selling”

Definition: By it’s name, the exact opposite of selling a move. The performer will take a bump but not do anything to make it look good or impressive.

“Over Selling”

Definition: The HBK-Hogan match from SummerSlam 2005. The wrestling equivalent of overacting. Anyone that has seen that match knows HBK was doing it to prove a point that he was unhappy with Hogan going over when he was on his way out the door.

I know I didn’t hit all the “wrestling terms” that a fan grows accustomed to, but hopefully this glossary came in handy to all of you reading this right now. If I missed a word or phrase that you thought of, let me know in the comments section below.
