4. Cody Rhodes

Believe you me, I’m enjoying Cody Rhodes’ time as Stardust. It’s a character progression that can set Rhodes apart from his peers and create a long-lasting career similar to that of his brother Dustin Rhodes, who has embodied the Goldust character for three decades.

Whether he continues to don the Stardust get-up or simply becomes sick of living in his brother’s shadow, Rhodes needs to turn heel.

Rhodes has needed to turn heel since WrestleMania.

Rhodes has been a heel in the past, adopting the over-utilized egomaniac gimmick. This time around, his heel turn can feature the unique character of Stardust, which builds off the legacy of the one-of-a-kind Goldust.

Believe it or not, Goldust was once a legendary heel whose promos and in-ring mannerisms resulted in disgust and hate. He was a mentally disturbed superstar who managed to become one of the lasting names from one of WWE’s most prominent eras.

Rhodes has that same potential if he can accurately pull off the face-to-heel transition as Stardust. This can help play into Rhodes’ storyline need to get out of his brother’s shadow and commence a time in which he casts one of his own.

There’s a lot of potential with the Stardust character. Hopefully WWE lets Cody Rhodes run with it.
