WWE: CM Punk, 5 wrestlers we’d love to see back in WWE
KURT ANGLE
There are a ton of moments that have to do with Kurt Angle that I’ll never forget. In fact, he might be one of the most memorable performers of the 2000’s for the WWE and that’s saying something. In the ring, he was as good as anyone — when he was totally healthy. The problem being, he was rarely totally healthy and I think that’s one reason the WWE soured on him. Angle wanted to kill himself out there and the WWE couldn’t have that.
I’ll never forget Angle’s picture-perfect moonsaults, his attempt(s) to suplex Shane McMahon through the pane of glass or Angle’s over-the-top WHOOOOO.
It seemed crazy talking about how long Hardy had been gone — Angle’s been gone since the middle of 2006. His matches with Chris Benoit, Eddie Guerrero and Brock Lesnar were all classics. Having a workhorse like Angle who can not only have great matches, but can hold his own on the microphone — is what’s missing from today’s WWE.
