Seth Rollins and Kane backstage
Rollins tried to convince Kane not to take Randy Orton’s RKO at the end of Raw personally. Kane said he doesn’t need Rollins to be the “voice of reason”. He said he hopes Orton is watching and that he sees what he does to Ambrose. Rollins asked Kane to leave a little bit of life in Ambrose, so that Rollins can take out the rest. Kane nodded and left, leaving a smile on Rollins’ face. Kane then returned to warn Rollins not to think about cashing in on him when he wins the title on Sunday. Rollins looked terrified as Kane walked out. Good segment. WWE’s doing a good job of putting The Authority and their lackeys on the same page, but not at the same time. It’s tough to explain, but it’s playing really well on TV.
Dean Ambrose vs. Kane
As Kane was finishing his entrance, and setting off the flames, Ambrose attacked him and the referee started the match. Ambrose was able to get Kane to ringside, so Ambrose went for a suicide dive, but Kane hit him as he was about to come through the ropes. This completely stopped Ambrose’s momentum, as his upper-body is already beaten up after Kane, Rollins and Orton attacked him on Raw.
Kane went for a Tombstone Piledriver on the steel steps, but Ambrose countered and pushed Kane into the steel post. As Ambrose seemed ready for an attack on Kane, Rollins ran down and hit Ambrose with the briefcase to cause a DQ.
Ambrose defeats Kane via DQ.
After the match, Kane and Rollins brought the steel steps into the ring. Despite Ambrose continuing to fight back, Kane was able to hit him with a chokeslam, then set him up on the steps, so that Rollins could hit a vicious curb stomp and leave Ambrose laying.
3 out of 5 stars – Average match. I’m just not that excited by Kane, he’s a glorified henchman. It’s starting to feel like he is really ready to leave.
