Raw Review: Triple H Announces John Cena’s Opponent for SummerSlam

Triple H came out and admitted that he was mad that John Cena retained the title at Battleground. He then began going into full “Triple H mode” as he trolled the audience. He talked about complaining about Cena’s win on social media, and threatened to stop watching.

Orton came out and demanded that Triple H grant him the one-on-one rematch he never got after losing the title to Daniel Bryan at WrestleMania XXX. Triple H responded and said that Orton’s rematch is coming, but he hasn’t made a decision for SummerSlam yet. He said that the whole roster, including Orton, would be given a chance to make their case in the ring. Orton said he’d already be champ if Kane did his job, then Kane came out.

Kane said he wants a shot at Cena, and that he is done babysitting Orton. Orton was about to come back at Kane, but Reigns made his way down the aisle.

Reigns said nobody wants to see Kane or Orton challenge Cena, but they do want to see Reigns get a shot. He then dropped the mic and nailed Kane with a Superman Punch. A furious Triple H put Reigns in a Handicap Match against Orton and Kane.

Awesome promo. All guys make a good case, and this at least puts a little doubt towards the rumors of who will face Cena.

Reigns had control early on, but Orton was able to deliver a knee to the gut of Reigns, helping him and Kane take over. Reigns and Kane then jockeyed for control, back-and-forth, as Raw went to commercial, with Reigns taking out Kane. So, of course, Kane and Orton were in control when Raw returned from commercial.

After Orton refused to tag into the match, Reigns hit a Superman Punch and a spear on Kane for the win.

Reigns defeats Kane and Orton via pinfall.

3.5 out of 5 stars – “Make Reigns look good”. That was the mission, and it was accomplished. The match wasn’t a thing of beauty, but it got the job done.
