Bayley and Sasha Banks backstage

Sasha asked Bayley who she thinks she is, and Bayley pleasantly responded “I’m Bayley”. Sasha said that Bayley will never be NXT Women’s Champion before her, and that she should go back to playing with her “inflatable friends”.

Bayley said that it’s not her fault that Summer Rae and Charlotte both dumped Sasha, then said that no matter how bad Sasha wants a hug, it won’t come from her.

Sasha reiterated that she is the next champion, then gave Bayley a light shove and walked away.

I was very pleased with both Divas in this segment, especially Bayley. Bayley’s a tough character to play, but she nails it every time.

Bayley vs. Sasha Banks in a #1 Contender’s Match

The crowd was really into this match. The early minutes of the match saw chants like “Sasha’s ratchet” and “Bayley’s gonna hug you”.

The match started off hot, with a lot of back-and-forth, then saw Bayley get the upper-hand, with Sasha doing everything she could to get away. Sasha would gain control by going to the outside, and countering an overzealous Bayley.

After Sasha got control, her offense on Bayley was methodical.

Bayley’s comeback is as vicious as it is adorable.

After Bayley went for Belly-to-Bayley, Sasha countered with a backstabber and a gorgeous transition to a crossfack submission hold, but Bayley was able to roll Sasha on her shoulders and get the three-count.

Bayley defeats Banks via pinfall.

After the match, Charlotte greeted Bayley on the stage, raising her hand and then giving her a handshake.

3.5 out of 5 stars – I was excited when I heard about this match, and they both delivered.
