Adrian Neville vs. Tyler Breeze for the NXT Championship
After some early back-and-forth, Neville used his fast-paced offense, until Breeze was able to come up with a counter.
Breeze used a much slower offense, but he quickly got frustrated with every kickout from Neville.
Action was fast and furious at the end, with plenty of nearfalls, including a nasty DDT from Breeze, which Neville gave a great sell to, that elicited a “This is Awesome” chant.
At the end, Tyson Kidd, who was sitting at the announce table, walked through the crowd and stood at the barricade while Neville and Breeze were laid out on the ramp, just after a suicide dive from Neville. Neville was the first man to his feet, and promptly delivered a superkick right to Kidd’s chin. After Breeze and Neville got back in the ring, Neville was looking to hit a Red Arrow, but Kidd knocked him off the ropes for a DQ.
Neville defeats Breeze via DQ.
After the match, Kidd would continue his attack on Neville, until Breeze attacked Kidd for costing him a title shot. Those two would brawl, until Neville tried to attack both men, and they teamed up against Neville. Sami Zayn ran down the ramp next, and he cleared the ring of Kidd and Breeze before tending to Neville. Things got a little interesting in the end, when Zayn ended up getting a hold of the NXT Championship, and he gave it a long look before handing it to Neville.
3.75 out of 5 stars – This was a 4 star match, but it loses points because it didn’t have a clean finish. Really good match, Neville and Breeze worked really well together. I would not mind seeing them main event one of NXT’s live specials.
