WWE SummerSlam: How can WWE pull a swerve on the fans?
Chris Jericho vs. Bray Wyatt – Luke Harper and Erick Rowan are banned from ringside.
Y2J surprisingly went over Wyatt at Battleground last month. Looking back on it now, it made sense to give Jericho a win and establish some credibility, as he was only weeks into his latest run with WWE.
For SummerSlam, with Harper and Rowan being banned from ringside, the expectation will be that they’ll factor into this match in some way. How about if neither show up and Wyatt wins clean? How about if he turns face and Jericho turns heel after the match too?
It would spice up the rivalry even more going into Night of Champions, which is the last PPV that Jericho is scheduled to work. Wyatt would get to go over in what is expected to be a big show (since WWE will be looking for everyone to re-new their network subscriptions) as a face and re-gain his momentum through the rest of 2014.
Bray has lost a lot of credibility since being defeated by John Cena in 2 of their 3 matches earlier this year. It’s caused his act as a heel to become a little stale lately too. Bringing out some fresh, face promos would do a lot for him and set up some interesting future feuds following the NOC PPV.
