WWE SmackDown: Non-Spoiler Preview for August 22nd
It is time for another edition of WWE SmackDown!
You can find spoilers all over the internet for every Friday’s SmackDown, but we won’t spoil it for you in this article. We’ll give a rundown on each match and predictions.

Jack Swagger vs. Seth Rollins
Seth Rollins just recently put Dean Ambrose “out of action” for who knows how long. From it, though, he has even more momentum that he’ll carry into this match.
Jack Swagger’s push seems to be over. He lost to Cesaro on Raw earlier this week and seems to be entering a feud with Bo Dallas, who WWE is not particularly high on. That could make their feud a TV only battle.
It would be surprising to see a result that is not Rollins defeating Swagger. What will be interesting to see is if this will be a squash match or not. If it is, Swagger may sink into the bottom of the card.
Prediction: Seth Rollins wins via pin-fall.
Rusev vs. Sin Cara
Rusev appears headed towards a feud with Mark Henry, a former Olympian. To make up for getting beat up by Henry on Raw, he gets to squash a low-card performer in Sin Cara. Let’s see how long the match lasts.
Prediction: Rusev wins via submission.
Randy Orton vs. Rob Van Dam
After defeating Cesaro at SummerSlam, RVD comes into what could be his final match before his next hiatus from WWE. He’ll get to face Randy Orton, who is coming off a loss to Roman Reigns last Sunday and a loss during the six man tag team match, which RVD was also involved in.
This is going to be either a very fun match or a squash match. If RVD is going to get off TV, maybe Orton brutally beats him down to show off aggression and raise his momentum. I can’t see him losing to RVD in anyway.
Prediction: Randy Orton wins via pin-fall.
Paige vs. Natalya
Natalya seems to be getting thrown into this feud between Paige and AJ Lee like Eva Marie was a few weeks ago with getting roll-up pins. Because of that, I can’t see this match lasting long again.
AJ will come out to distract at some point and cause the quick win for Natalya again, sending the Divas Champion into shock. It’s a little predictable at this point.
Prediction: Natalya wins via pin-fall.
Goldust and Stardust vs. The Wyatt Family
Maybe Luke Harper and Erick Rowan did something to upset management backstage, but they have been getting buried by the likes of Mark Henry and Big Show lately. Shouldn’t this be the other way around?
Goldust and Stardust beat The Usos on Monday, which immediately starts speculation about a Tag Team Championship match at Night of Champions.
I would like to see The Wyatt Family win this one because Harper and Rowan are too very good characters and need to look as dominant as they were earlier in the year. However, WWE may want to build up the Dust Bros. again and make them look even stronger. That’s why I think they come out of this victorious. Harper and Rowan could win this and set up a triple threat match next month, but it is not likely at the moment.
Prediction: Goldust and Stardust win via pin-fall.
Roman Reigns vs. The Miz
These two faced off on SmackDown last week with Roman Reigns winning via pin-fall.
The Miz is coming off a loss at SummerSlam, which cost him the Intercontinental Championship to Dolph Ziggler. He then lost in a rematch to him via count-out on Raw (even though he technically won this match because Ziggler was counted out). Putting him against Reigns may not change his fortunes since they are pushing the former muscle of The Shield so much.
They need to make Miz look like a strong bet to recapture the title from Ziggler, but that won’t happen this week. Reigns is not going to lose a match anytime before Night of Champions.
Prediction: Roman Reigns wins via pin-fall.
The match of the night seems like it will be Seth Rollins vs. Jack Swagger from the first glance if Swagger doesn’t get squashed. If not, this may be a long two hours. What do you think will happen on WWE SmackDown?
