SmackDown Review: Dean Ambrose Takes on Kane

Seth Rollins and Dolph Ziggler promo

Rollins started by encouraging the “you sold out” chants. He said that he certainly did sell out, and that every single person in the crowd would do the same thing.

He said everybody wants to have principles when their young, but that everybody on the planet would sell out their mother, their father, their brother, their sister, even their dog, just to get a chance to be as successful as him. He added that nobody could be as successful as him, because he is the future of WWE.

He turned his attention to Dean Ambrose. He said that Ambrose doesn’t belong in Hell in a Cell, he belongs in a straitjacket. He said that he will make a mess of Ambrose when he gets him inside the Cell.

Rollins said he sold Ambrose out in the past, but he’s going to put him out at Hell in a Cell. Rollins was then interrupted by Dolph Ziggler.

Ziggler said that Rollins got money and fame by selling out, but that he will never get respect that way. Rollins laughed Ziggler off, so Ziggler dropped the mic and delivered a dropkick that infuriated Rollins and got the match under way.

Good promo to open the show. Neither one of these guys is particularly great on the mic, but they did a good job here. Rollins did very well.

Seth Rollins vs. Dolph Ziggler

Rollins came out overaggressive after the bell, and Ziggler quickly dropped him to the outside.

Rollins dominated the middle part of the match, until he got knocked to the outside and tweaked his knee. As Rollins sold the injury, Ziggler started to turn the tide.

Ziggler missed a Fameasser, but Rollins caught him in powerbomb position, but Ziggler countered with a roll-up. After Rollins kicked out, he pulled Ziggler up and hit him with a buckle bomb, immediately followed by a curb stomp for the win.

Rollins defeats Ziggler via pinfall.

2.75 out of 5 stars – The athleticism both guys possess is just insane.

Dean Ambrose and Kane promo

Ambrose asked why Rollins was running from him. He said that he’s going to put one boot down Rollins throat, and another one where the sun don’t shine. He said the next thing he does can’t be said on this show, then he was interrupted by Kane.

Kane came out and said that he likes hurting people, and he wants to have a match, so he put himself in a match with Ambrose for tonight.
