Seth Rollins and Randy Orton backstage

Orton thanked Rollins, and Rollins said he was just looking out for him.

Orton questioned why Rollins would be looking out for him, and Rollins said he was a team player. Orton told Rollins not to look out for him.

Rollins then played out the “miracle” scenario that would lead to Orton being champion, then he held up the briefcase and said that the future would take care of itself from there.

Orton glared at him, but walked away. The tension continues to build between Orton and The Authority.

Randy Orton, John Cena and Paul Heyman promo

Orton notes it’s not the first time he and Cena have been inside the Cell, so they know what to expect.

After Orton trashed the home town Royals earlier in the night, he had to deal with early “Let’s go Royals” chants, as he said they wouldn’t win a game that matters for the next 100 years.

Orton talked about 2002, when him and Cena made their debuts, Orton as a third-generation star, Cena as some punk from Boston.

He noted that him and Cena have battled on PPV already this year, with the world title on the line at Royal Rumble, a match that saw Orton defeat Cena. Orton said that it will be the same story this Sunday, when he defeats Cena again.

Cena came out and talked about history. He said that what happened in 2002 doesn’t mean anything in 2014. He said that the Royals lost 100 games in 2002, and that they’re in the World Series in 2014.

Cena said that a lot has changed since 2002, but that Orton is still an underachiever and a “dumbass”. Cena said that he wants another shot at Brock Lesnar, and if he has to go through Orton to get it, then he will.

Heyman came out next and said that they are playing a game of revisionist history. He said that 2002 was the year that Orton debuted, and the year Cena debuted, but that the biggest debut was of “The Next Big Thing,” Lesnar.

Heyman started with Orton. He told Orton that he wants nothing to do with Lesnar, no matter how much he wants the WWE World Heavyweight Championship.

Heyman then turned to Cena, telling Cena that he can’t handle the Beast, no matter how much he wants him.

Cena went for an AA to Heyman, but eventually decided against it and put Heyman down. Immediately after, Orton spun Cena around for an RKO. Heyman celebrated the RKO to Cena, until he took one of his own.

I really enjoyed this promo. Orton and Cena are better than they get credit for, Heyman gets all the credit he deserves.
