WWE Hell in a Cell Predictions: AJ Lee vs. Paige for the Divas Championship

At this Sunday’s WWE Hell in a Cell pay-per-view, AJ Lee defends the Divas Championship against Paige.

The night after WrestleMania XXX, Paige debuted on Raw and defeated AJ Lee for the title, ending AJ’s record-breaking reign.

AJ disappeared for a while after that, until she returned the night after Money in the Bank, surprising Paige, returning the favor, and walking out Divas Champion.

AJ would go on to retain against Paige at Battleground, before Paige would take the title from AJ again at SummerSlam.

AJ won the title back at Night of Champions, in a Triple Threat Match involving Nikki Bella.

Paige and AJ had been playing the “frenemies” storyline, until Paige decided to end that after Night of Champions. Now, Paige rolls with her new best friend, Alicia Fox, who picked up a win over AJ on Raw.

What will happen when these two go one-on-one at WWE Hell in a Cell? Rob Wolkenbrod, Jordan Campbell, Becca Cook, Callum Wiggins, and Mike Smith have some thoughts.

Rob’s Take: I’ve had enough of this feud for awhile now.

AJ and Paige are both talented, but the use of them in this never ending feud has been horrible. How many times are we going to see AJ beat Alicia Fox? Come on, WWE, that’s just lazy booking.

With Paige and Alicia scheduled to join the Total Divas cast, I think it points to the British Diva losing this match and ending her feud with AJ. If it’s true that Total Divas cast members cannot win the Divas Championship, then Paige has no chance.

Rob’s Prediction: AJ Lee

Jordan’s Take: The AJ Lee versus Paige feud has lost it’s luster. Hell in a Cell should, without question, be the end of feud. There is no question that AJ Lee and Paige are the most talented divas on the main roster and that is the reason why the feud has dragged on for as long as it has. I can see either diva winning this match, but for the sake of making a prediction, I will give the nod to Lee.

Jordan’s Prediction: AJ Lee

Becca’s Take: When AJ returned in June, I, as well as a lot of fans, thought that this would be the revitalization of the Divas Division and this would be a Lita/Trish worthy feud but it’s been very disappointing and this match won’t be anything more than average. AJ will win and be thrown into a pointless feud for Survivor Series with a Bella or Naomi.

Becca’s Prediction: AJ Lee

Callum’s Take: I can’t really say that I’m overly interested in this match. The action will be good as both AJ Lee and Paige are getting their chemistry together, but as far as storyline goes this is dead in the water – unbelievably dull. As they are playing hot potato with the belt, I will just take a stab at it and say AJ retains.

Callum’s Prediction: AJ Lee

Mike’s Take: I’m very excited for this match, as they seem to have better matches every time out.

With Paige’s move to Total Divas, there’s almost nobody left to legitimately challenge AJ for the Divas Championship. Earlier this week, Stephanie McMahon suggested that the Total Divas-Divas Championship rule doesn’t exist, and I think that they will prove that to be true by having Paige win.

Mike’s Prediction: Paige
