WWE Hell in a Cell Predictions: Dean Ambrose vs. Seth Rollins (Hell in a Cell Match)

facebooktwitterreddit

This Sunday, at WWE Hell in a Cell, Seth Rollins will have nowhere to run, when he is locked inside Hell in a Cell with Dean Ambrose.

More from WWE

From Survivor Series 2012 to Payback 2014, The Shield were arguably the most dominant faction in wrestling history. Until the night after Payback, when Rollins hit Roman Reigns in the back with a chair, then continued the attack on Ambrose, officially turning on his “brothers”.

Ambrose has been focused on Rollins ever since, attacking him in a backstage brawl at Battleground, forcing Triple H to cancel their match. Then, losing a Lumberjack Match at SummerSlam to Rollins, after some interference from Kane.

Shortly after SummerSlam, Rollins curb stomped Ambrose onto cinder blocks, leaving Ambrose out of action for several weeks. Ambrose returned at Night of Champions, when Rollins’ match with Reigns was cancelled after Reigns had emergency surgery the day before. Ambrose brawled with Rollins until the two were separated.

This match was set up after Ambrose got the win in a No Holds Barred Contract on a Pole Match against John Cena.

What will happen when Ambrose and Rollins are locked inside the Cell? Rob Wolkenbrod, Jordan Campbell, Carl Gac, Becca Cook, Callum Wiggins, and Mike Smith have some thoughts.

Rob’s Take: This has been one of the best feuds that WWE has seen in a long time. It’s felt personal since the day it started and it still feels like that on the day that it will probably end at Hell in a Cell.

This match deserves to close out HIAC, but it won’t because of WWE’s golden boys, which is a shame.

If this is given a great amount of time – it could be the best Hell in a Cell match that we’ve seen in a long time. The animosity will be at its peak and we can finally see these two brawl. I wouldn’t be surprised if they pull out some eye-popping spots for this match. It won’t be anything like what happened to Mick Foley in 1998, but it will be appropriate for the PG era.

In the end, I see Dean Ambrose finally getting his revenge over Seth Rollins and receiving his first PPV win.

Rob’s Prediction: Dean Ambrose

Jordan’s Take: The Ambrose versus Rollins’ Hell in a Cell match will either make or break the PPV. If the story is told correctly, then the Ambrose and Rollins match on Sunday will be the match of the year. The build up to this match is something that started the night after the Payback pay-per view when Rollins turned against The Shield. Since then, Ambrose and Rollins have blossomed into main-eventers. The Mick Foley cameo last Monday Night was perfect. Foley’s career was defined by Hell in a Cell matches and that will be the case for Rollins and Ambrose.

As for the prediction, the prediction here is that Rollins will win. If WWE is going to continue this feud in light of the absence of Brock Lesnar, then the heel should win this match. That being said, there is a wildcard in this match. The wild card is Randy Orton. Orton’s babyface turn is imminent and it could come at the expense of Rollins on Sunday. If that is the case, then Ambrose will win. But, for the sake of this article, I have Rollins winning the match.

Jordan’s Prediction: Seth Rollins

Carl’s Take: The one match that is set to sell this PPV, and has WWE Match of the Year potential written all over it. It feels like it’s been a long time coming but it’s time for Ambrose to get his revenge on Rollins. Whilst I can see Ambrose getting up to all sorts to inflict his revenge, I don’t think it’ll help him win the actual match. The Authority are more than likely to get involved, and I’d love to see Ambrose get the better of them all here but I just can’t see it happening. This feud has got legs yet. The MITB case can still be fought over by them both. Whatever the result, I think both men will put in the match of their careers and not leave the crowd wanting more. Both will come out of this bigger stars than when they walk through the door but this feud will run for a while yet. This match could just be the beginning!

Carl’s Prediction: Seth Rollins

Becca’s Take: I don’t think I’ve been so excited for a match since Daniel Bryan vs Triple H at WrestleMania, and if Rollins and Ambrose perform to the high level that they have proven they can reach, this will be a career-defining match. I don’t mind who wins as even the loser will benefit from a well built-up feud and strong match. As he’s been the weaker of the two in this rivalry so far, I’m going to say that Ambrose will overcome Rollins and the Authority and win.

Becca’s Prediction: Dean Ambrose

Callum’s Take: This is the hottest feud in WWE at the moment, and with the WWE World Heavyweight Championship not on the line at this PPV, it deserves the main event slot. The matches between these two have been decidedly one-sided, with Rollins finding a way to sneak a victory on every occasion. Hell in a Cell should redress that balance. Dean Ambrose is coming into his own as a maniacal anti-hero, and therefore deserves the victory.

The match should be full-blooded (without actual blood, obviously) and filled with reckless spots befitting the Ambrose character. These two have shown in the past a willingness to put their bodies on the line to steal the show, and so fans shouldn’t expect any different here. I think that Ambrose will pick up the win, but the feud is far from over.

Callum’s Prediction: Dean Ambrose

Mike’s Take: I think Ambrose is going to pull this one out.

I think it’s time for this feud to end. I’m a believer in leaving the people wanting more, and if they end this feud now, they give themselves the opportunity to return to it somewhere down the line.

Hell in a Cell is a feud-ending type of stipulation, and if this feud is ending, it should end with Ambrose celebrating atop the Cell.

Mike’s Prediction: Dean Ambrose
