WWE Hell in a Cell Predictions: Dolph Ziggler vs. Cesaro for the Intercontinental Championship (2-out-of-3 Falls)
By Mike Smith
This Sunday at WWE Hell in a Cell, Dolph Ziggler will defend his Intercontinental Championship against Cesaro in a 2-out-of-3 Falls Match.
More from WWE
- Trish Stratus on WWE NXT would help elevate that women’s division
- Randy Orton signs with SmackDown to go after The Bloodline
- WWE and AEW will put on a full court press for Kazuchika Okada in 2024
- The Judgment Day is the top faction story in WWE
- Liv Morgan vs Rhea Ripley is perfect for WWE Royal Rumble 2024
This past Monday, Cesaro picked up a clean victory over Ziggler on Raw, which set up a title match on SmackDown. Ziggler was able to successfully defend the title on Friday night, but Cesaro did enough to earn himself another title shot at the pay-per-view, but he would have to do it under the 2-out-of-3 Falls stipulation.
Not much else has gone into this feud, so let’s just get to the predictions from Rob Wolkenbrod, Jordan Campbell, Carl Gac, Becca Cook, Callum Wiggins, and Mike Smith:
Rob’s Take: A 2 out of 3 Falls Match between these two is guaranteed to be epic. It could easily steal the show.
Cesaro lost his chance at the US Championship, so now they have him going for the IC title. If he doesn’t win this match against Ziggler, where does he go from there? That rumored Brock Lesnar feud from months ago doesn’t seem like it’s going to happen, so does Cesaro fall further into obscurity?
I’m going to hope that WWE makes the smart move of the Swiss Superman taking the title from Ziggler and letting them continue a program into Survivor Series.
Rob’s Prediction: Cesaro
Jordan’s Take: This match could steal the show. Ziggler and Cesaro are both gifted in the ring and that is why this match will be entertaining. In the battle of mid-carders, the prediction here is that Ziggler wins. You hear that, I think some “Bad News” may be coming.
Jordan’s Prediction: Dolph Ziggler
Carl’s Take: I can see this match having the potential to get the PPV off to the best possible start, two of the best natural wrestlers on the roster face off in an old fashioned kind of match. While I say this, neither man looks set to jump out of the mid card, regardless of their talents in the ring. I can see Ziggler winning, keeping the feud going a bit longer yet and maybe adding Barrett into the mix when he’s back. I would love to see a Triple Threat between them all.
Carl’s Prediction: Dolph Ziggler
Becca’s Take: These two men should be in main event feuds but I’m not complaining too much as it’s great to see them getting TV time. Hopefully they’ll get a decent length of match and it would be nice to see Ziggler retain, only for the feud to continue and for Cesaro to win next time.
Becca’s Prediction: Dolph Ziggler
Callum’s Take: From a pure wrestling standpoint, this has got to be a contender for match of the night. Both men have experience in two out of three fall matches, and strive to put on the best show possible and show-off their ability. Really, both superstars could get the victory and there would be positive/negative outcomes. Unfortunately, the Intercontinental title doesn’t guarantee you wins, exposure or the chance to push for the world title anymore. To keep some consistency, let’s go for Dolph Ziggler to retain the championship.
Callum’s Prediction: Dolph Ziggler
Mike’s Take: I just don’t think it’s time for Cesaro to get this win. The next big moment for Cesaro should be as the Lone Survivor in a Survivor Series Match.
Until then, these guys will do no less than steal the show, as Ziggler retains his title.
Mike’s Prediction: Dolph Ziggler
Five of us have Ziggler, only one of us is picking Cesaro. Who do you think will walk out as the Intercontinental Champion? Let us know in the comment section below.
