Zack Ryder’s age of relevance was brief and memorable in the manner in which it was rapidly disintegrated. A push motivated by his goofy personality and cutting edge Internet show led him to teaming with John Cena and winning the United States Championship. But, that brief reign followed by being dragged to Hell on a repeated basis by Kane and Eve Torres saw him fall away from this lofty position and back to being a neglected comedy act. Any previous attempts at a revival have been ignored, not ventured or fleeting, in spite of Ryder still carrying a decent amount of fan support.

A return to NXT could give him the platform to fully regain the crowd’s support. Ryder is a well-known face despite being confined to the lower card for over two years, and fans continue to pop whenever they hear his entrance music. So, he shouldn’t change his gimmick or character in Florida, but instead expand on what he already has. Show off more of himself in his promos, play off the fact that he has been ignored and is looking for a place to call his home. That will endear him to the crowd, and many will get behind him if he looks to pursue the NXT Championship, looking for that one defining moment in his WWE career.
