The Highlight Reel w/ The Authority
Chris Jericho came out to a huge pop from the UK crowd, and immediately started by joking about the identity of The Bunny, throwing Funaki’s name out as a possibility.
Jericho then introduced his guests, Triple H and Stephanie McMahon.
Jericho opened by asking why The Authority asked to be on The Highlight Reel, and Stephanie said that it’s about giving the people what they want. Stephanie went on to talk about all the great things that have happened in recent WWE history, like Daniel Bryan’s run to WrestleMania XXX, but noted that none of it would have happened without The Authority. She said that WWE is what it is because there’s a McMahon in charge.
Jericho said that he thinks he could run WWE, and that he thinks the WWE Universe could as well. He then asked the crowd if they wanted to see Triple H and Stephanie do a series of strange things, like lick his boots, which the crowd responded to with “Yes” chants.
Triple H eventually had enough and cut Jericho off. He said that they don’t care what the crowd thinks, and that they do a great job running WWE. He said that “the wolf does not asked to be embraced by sheep.”
Triple H said that everybody can laugh now, because The Authority will be the ones laughing after Survivor Series.
The Authority got fed up and walked to the back, but not before Jericho led the crowd in a sing-along of “Goodbye” while they went up the ramp.
I don’t know how long it’s been since Jericho was the third-best part of a promo, if it’s ever happened, but that was the case here. Triple H was very good, Stephanie was fantastic.
