Discussing Potential New Permanent General Managers
3. Hulk Hogan

Another legendary figure that understands being one of the industry’s leading stars, Hulk Hogan, has made a number of appearances since returning to the company in the build-up to WrestleMania 30. Mainly, these have been feel good moments promoting the company’s charity work, geeing up the crowd before shows and involved in segments promoting John Cena and other top babyfaces. So, wouldn’t it be a greater use of his time and legacy to make him the General Manager instead?
Now, there are obviously a number of issues with this choice of authority figure. Hogan obviously is not in good enough health to take bumps and get involved in any physical altercations. His promo skills have declined with age to the point where he can’t really improvise and every other word is incomprehensible. And although he is revered for his contributions to professional wrestling, overexposing him may cause that fan reaction to rapidly decline, as was the case when he ran the show in TNA.
However, the popular leader of Hulkamania is a respected figure, who despite his limitations in the ring became a cult hero in the 1980’s, and then one of the most despised heels as the leader of the nWo in WCW.
Hulk Hogan is a name that wrestling needs to have in it for as long as possible; it pretty much embodies the entire sports entertainment industry. With his involvement, the WWE would see at least a short-term growth in viewers, which has been the case in the last few months in spite of the poor material he has been told to promote.
Also, with the villainous nature of the Authority still reeking in the nostrils, Hulk Hogan as the perennial WWE babyface would bring a breath of fresh air. Sure, he will talk up John Cena to no end and that might become boring and turn the crowd. But, he will also stamp his seal of approval on the likes of Dolph Ziggler, Randy Orton, Daniel Bryan and Roman Reigns, helping them step up whilst putting those who supported the Authority down a peg or two. A face in charge is what is required right now, and Hogan will be a fair and just leader for the upcoming months.
