Seth Rollins w/ Renee Young
Rollins said that things are getting ridiculous. He said he shouldn’t be expected to be in a Steel Cage Match with John Cena, only one night after being in a Tables Match.
Rollins said that WWE is a madhouse, and that nobody is safe. He referenced Chris Jericho, saying that Jericho deserved it, but that’s not the point. Rollins once again pushed that WWE needs The Authority.

Seth Rollins vs. John Cena in a Steel Cage Match
Rollins tried to escape a few times early on in this match. However, classic WWE booking, of course, had Cena escape the cage on his first try, and he would’ve got out, if not for J & J Security standing under him and stopping him. Have you heard that one before?
The two men went back-and-forth, trading control, until Cena brought a huge flurry of offense that resulted in Rollins kicking out of an AA.
Again, both men went back-and-forth trading escape attempts, Cena recovering to full health to stop Rollins, Rollins laying lifeless, while Joey Mercury and Jamie Noble had to combine their strength to stop Cena.
In the end, with both men lying prone to an attack, Brock Lesnar’s music hit, and The Beast came down with Paul Heyman and, unlike earlier, the belt.
Lesnar climbed in the Steel Cage and hit three German suplexes and an F-5 on Cena. Rollins cowered in the corner, but Lesnar just motioned to Cena, while Heyman climbed in the ring and extended a handshake to Rollins. Rollins shook Heyman’s hand, and Lesnar and Heyman left. Rollins hit a Curb Stomp on Cena, then very slowly exited the Steel Cage, while Cena lay there completely beaten.
Rollins defeats Cena by escaping the Cage.
2 out of 5 stars – What a train wreck.
I have no problem with Cena “overcoming the odds,” but this was ridiculous. The Steel Cage Match in his feud with Bray Wyatt was the worst part of that feud. One time where he escapes but is stopped by outside interference is plenty, J & J interfered multiple times, and Rollins still needed Lesnar’s help.
That’s no way to book Rollins, who has been a star for WWE.
