Hideo Itami vs. Curtis Axel

Axel brought the trash-talk out early, as he tried to pick up an early advantage, but Itami kept fighting, hitting kicks like they were going out of style. However, when he hit a few roundhouse kicks in the corner, the referee backed him, Axel took advantage, and took over the match.

Axel used some unique moves, bringing a lot of offense to the table against Itami, until Itami hit a big clothesline to get back into it.

Itami got on a roll, and really picked things up. Itami went for a roundhouse kick on Axel, but Axel caught it and tried to bring Itami right in for a PerfectPlex, but Itami countered that, and hit a spinning roundhouse kick for the win.

Itami defeats Axel via pinfall.

3.25 out of 5 stars – These are the types of things that Axel is capable of. Hopefully, we see more of this.

Natalya and Tyson Kidd w/ Byron Saxton

Byron walked up looking to ask Kidd some questions, but Natalya told him that Kidd is preparing for match next week against Finn Balor, but that she’d love to answer some questions. Byron started to ask a question, but Kidd, as he always does, stole the spotlight from his wife.

Kidd asked Natalya about how “his” cats are doing, and she said that they are “their” cats. Kidd rhetorically asked Natalya which one of them pre-chews the cat’s food when they get sick. Natalya was disgusted and told him that he should go check on them, noting that she has a match next week too. Kidd didn’t relent though, and got Natalya to go check on them.

Once she was gone, Kidd then clarified that they are his cats. He said he’s not looking past Balor, but he’s looking past Balor to bigger things, like overtaking Sarah McLachlan as the face of the ASPCA, because he is more than just a humanitarian, he’s a man of the animals, specifically cats, but not Grumpy Cat.

This was completely strange, and it made me question Kidd’s mental health for a second, but either way, it was insanely funny.
